I wear my 3/4 helmet, armoured mesh jacket, gloves, Kevlar jeans and boots as a general rule while commuting, but have gone down to just a t-shirt, gloves, regular jeans and boots if I'm just riding on the weekend for pleasure. It's nice to unplug from the gear sometimes.
