Elena is currently in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo, TX. She is still intubated. Her injuries from head to toe are as follows: Brain Injuries- left temporal bleed, a shearing cerebral stroke, a CT Scan on 11/24/2010 showed that the stroke had gotten worse and that there was some tissue death in the Cerebellum; Sternum is fractured; pelvis is fractured but stable; a feeding tube was placed on 11/24/2010; she has aspiration pneumonia.
I tell you this as a relief for me she is a very dear friend and coworker.
