I agree with Troy, it sounds like a safety switch issue. Not starting in anything but neutral make me believe the safety switch on the kickstand is involved.

Troy is correct. The lights are setup to be grounded by bolting them to the frame.
Not ideal. Run a ground wire from the lights to a ground wire on the bike.

I've had mine flashed went with one of chuckster's intakes on the right side an a cover plate on the left.
Then I removed the KAMS system. Without everything blocking the air flow it's no hotter...

It's got several 15 mph corners and in some areas requires a bit more shifting than I like. But it's kind of a gotta ride...
