Hey Skeeter, I had the same thing "near tank slapper" passing a semi on a rough road with my first CT. My speedo indicated 105 (about 90 actual). I've had it up to about the same speed a couple of...

Clearview Windshield

I have the 22.5 " with recurve & vent. With the windshield all the way down, I have about 1/4" clearance arount the light and can see over the top easily (I'm 6'). I keep the vent open almost all...

Cobra True Duals

I've had Cobra true duals on since I got my bike and love them. They didn't have the billet tips when I got mine. Mine are tapered (not made any more). I've heard a lot of V&H pipes and much...

rattle or noise

I got rid of mine a while back by loosening all the exhaust heat shields, moving them around a little and retightening them.

Loving the Darkside 195/60/16 bridgestone el400

Congratulations on going to the darkside. I just got a new rear tire and am having it mounted. It's a Hankook Ventus V4 es H105 195/55 R16 87V. This should be a higher quality tire than the...

Windshield Replacement

I look over the shield (my preference). I got the clearview windshield with recurve and vent. With the vent open, it cuts out almost all buffeting. I think opening the vent removes the vacuum...

Fringe....not the TV show

I put a mud flap on the front fender of a bike with gorrilla glue. I just wet the surfaces, applied the glue and clamped it in place. It showed no sign of coming loose in the three years I still...

I haven't bought one yet, but I'm considering a 205/55-R16.

Car Tire Poll

My cheap Chinese (Korean?) tire is an Achilles ATR Sport 195/55-R16. I don't see it listed on the poll. It is worth every bit of the $53 I paid for it.

Darkside Question

I'm running an Achilles ATR Sport 195/55-R16 and like the difference it makes in gearing. With this tire the speedometer error is huge (about 12%), but the bike pulls good from about 50 mph up in...

Gone Dark

I started out at 26 psi and have gone up to as much as 30 psi and as low as 24 psi to see the difference. I'm back to 26-27 psi. This seems to be the best feel for my tire, and I'm still wearing...

I'm sort of leaning :-) toward the Dunlop SP 5000. I just wish the tread pattern was symmetrical.

What brand and tire size? Mine's getting a little thin in the middle, so I'm considering my options. I got a cheap Korean (or Chinese; I'm not sure) tire to try out a car tire. It works fine but...

MPG Secret Revealed!

I usually keep the speedometer between 80 and 85 (about 72-77 actual), and get about 30-32 mpg. That seems to be a pretty comfortable cruising speed for most Texas highways, but I might slow it down...

car tire mileage

My CT has over 18,000 miles on it and is getting pretty thin in the middle. It is a cheap tire and low profile; Achilles ATR Sport 195/55-R16; $54. I have been pleased with this tire, but will...

Ape Hangers

Mine's about worn out after 18,000 + miles. I'm thinking I'll get a 205/60R16 this time and a better quality tire to see how it does. I like the low profile tire, and the Achilles ATR Sport has...

I soldered 6" pieces of wire into every wire one at a time. I did not stagger the joints very well and have a knot where a lot of the solder joints are. If I was to do it again, I would do a better...

Another observation: On Harleys and other bikes, 13" apes without extended risers put your hand position about the same place as 18" apes on the Nomad. I don't know why the Nomad's handlebar...

Ape Hangers

I had 13" apes at first and did not have to add any extensions. I did have to reroute the front brake line. I then added 2" risers and had to extend the brake & clutch lines, but not the throttle...

opinions on Mustang seats

The Mustang seat is an improvement over the stock seat, but if I ever get a spare $1,000 +, I'm going to get a Daylong seat.
