My 2000 has also done this as long as I have owned it. Doesn't matter if the signal was blinking when I shut it off or not. GREMLINS are among us.

Wonder if previous owner who added electrical accessories possibly tapped in the ground side wire from the button to the horn ? Then the wire would see a ground side circuit from another source...

It sounds like you have a short to ground in the wire that comes from the horn button to the horn. If the button completes the ground side circuit to activate the horn, somewhere that wire is getting...

Go Cobras or Vance & Hines, debaffle stock is a waste of time. I was not impressed with the sound and some have found loss of backpressure results in poorer performance.

I added 4 inch with no cable or wiring issues....

I added 4 inch with no cable or wiring issues. But they were straight up. Any set back will increase need for cable length even more. 2000 FI, Should be same configuration.

I have a 2000 1500 FI Nomad. I want to put a MS batwing on it. I find numerous listings for 2001 1500Fi applications but nothing showing the 2000 model year.
