Oil Filter Question

I think I've seen it in here before, but does anyone know a cross reference number to buy an oil filter for a 2003 FI nomad at a auto parts store? We have only 1 motorcycle shop here in town and they price their parts that way also.
Thanks

Oil Filter Question

My book is in the barn and I am beat... I have a list of parts and numbers in it. Today I got a pricey NAPA Gold (long) which is out in the barn too.

I am not sure that Super Tech, ST7317 is something I want, but the shelf was bare of them around here yesterday anyway. I was going to look at one..

The Napa gold line is a WIX really, and wix is a good filter.

If the Super Tech, ST7317 is a Fram I won't run it no matter if it is the last filter on earth...

Oil Filter Question

I work at Advance Auto here in Texas and although I'm not at work now, I called in and asked. Fram PH6017A @ $6.49. This is the same one that my '99 takes.

Oil Filter Question

Well once you see the engine oil light on right after a new Fram filter you won't run another one. I ran 2 in a row and turned the both of them inside out in moments.... fram= no oil pressure....

Oil Filter Question

The Supertech isn't made by Fram. I'm pretty sure it's made by Champion. Very good filters from all reviews that I have read. I'm on my second and will soon be changing again at 11,000 miles. Supertech ST7317 for me.

Oil Filter Question

Mac,

Somewhere on here was a thread that showed the Supetech filter was made by someone but not by Fram. It was rated as a good quality filter...and only $2.87 @ Wal Mart.

I have used 2 so far...no issues.

If you have V&h exhaust, the Pure One # PL14610 is a great filter.Has no cardboard in it . There is a shorter Pure One to use if you have stock exhaust, cant remember the number.

Oil Filter Question

Well I was just sayin, becuse I don't know, and the price scares me. I am just the messenger see?

Oil filters:

When I state 'long' it means you can use this if the goat bladder is gone. You can always use shorties..

NAPA GOLD 1358 (1356 long)

WIX 51358 (a good bet is wix 51356 is a valid number and long, but I don't know that as fact)

Mobil 1 M1-108 (M1-110 Long)

Bosch 3300 (3323 long)

AC Delco PF 2135

Puralator PL 14612 (PL14610 long)

Super Tech (ST 7317 long?)

If you want Fram look it up yer ol self.. I will not put junk on anyone's bike.

Oil Filter Question

A side note: Just now i used that 8 dollar and change filter the NAPA GOLD long, which is a WIX. IMO these are the best filter you can get commonly. That's just me though...

I also changed the gear oil, and it is just nasty looking metalic mung, and the 6 ounces always is scarey in a drain pan... I still can't get over 6 ounces.. I don't wanna discuss 0.2.

This time I got my bride to sit on the pillion and with my knee on the saddlebag frame pulled the drain bolt clear.. Fastest way so far to pull the bolt.

The gear case is draining as i type, so I can eat, and get as much as possible.
