Brake lights on when key was turned...
 

In light of this beautiful weekend me and the wife rode about 400 miles yesterday and Tru-Dee ( my nomad )did great we got home and grilled some steaks and when i went to put her back in her building i noticed as soon as i turned on the key the brake lights were on. I tapped the foot brake pedal and they went off. Now last year when i changed tires and lubed the drive shaft and all i changed brake pads but not the brake fluid i just topped it off. Think the fluid needing to be changed could cause this or think its the spring that returns the padel to normal position? How often should brake fluid be changed. Sometimes when riding i think i feel a drag and wonder now if the brakes are sticking up. I got a ride to shatley springs coming up sunday so i need to get her right before then. Any ideas ?

Check the brake light switch at the pedal, they stick sometimes with a buildup of road grime. As for thinking the brake it's self is sticking and dragging that will not cause the light to stay on, in that senario the pedal will still return to it's normal position and so will the switch if it is operating freely.
To see if your brake is sticking ride up a slight incline and stop firmly, release the brake, if the bike rolls back freely it's not sticking, if it's hanging up you will know.

Try lubing the brake pedal pivot, and make sure it isn't sticking. While yer at it lube the side stand pivot, shifters where they pass thru the frame, and the shift linkage..

Mines done that too, it was a dirty switch at the pedal, it could also be the switch at the lever as well.

Mine does the same thing now and then ,a few shots of cleaner on the brake switch fixes it up

Just in case you needed one more person to confirm...this iscommon on the Nomads, I too had to lube the pedal switch every once in awhile.
