A big hello to everyone from Utah!
Registered a few months ago. Lookin' up RACNRAY's mods brought me here. I've been riding for nearly 12 years. I'll be soon converted to civilian after nearly 20 yrs in USAF. And soon after that I'll be a "money grubbing" DOD contractor, as one of my friends would call it. My first bike is a 2005 Vulcan 1500FI classic. Ole' "Aethon" has over 68,000 miles on it, still chuggin' along even after 3 wreck's. Currently undergoing a bevel gear bearing replacement. I've put over 53,000 miles on this bike. Fairly modded with a TFI techlusion, homemade Cold air mod and cobra drag pipes. My new-ish one, "Calypso" a 2012 Vaquero I bought it in Oct. of 2018 with about 12,300 miles on it, she now has over 18,600 miles on the odometer. Only mods so far is debaffled exhaust, relocated IAT sensor and stock style K&N filter. Also, LED headlights, saddlebag speakers and a Windvest windshield (Soon to change possibly). Will be doing a stereo amp install soon. |
Thank you for your service!!!

So far the IAT sensor relocation is doing pretty good. Runs about 15% cooler than it did before, especially at 85°F+ with no mileage hit. Unfortunately there is a 3-8 mpg hit when temps are below 60° (15.5°C) increasing as it get's colder. (8-9 mpg hit at 25-30°) Yeah I'm a winter rider, I've ridden this thing as cold as 25°. (Yay for heated grips!) |
Welcome from the Flatlands of South Dakota!

Welcome from Central Iowa!

Welcome from Eastern Iowa! Congratulations! Love that Plasma Blue!
Get Calypso Ivanized. So worth it, that when I brought the 2nd Vaquero home, the ECU went to Ivan the next day. Enjoy and ride safe, Smokier |
Welcome and thanks for your service as well!

Welcome and thank you for your service.
I Have not heard the word Racnray for a while. I still have his throttle mod installed. And so you know If you ever have your ECU flashed by Ivan, you can leave the throttle mod on if you choose. Do you have the Sagebrush engine guard covers? They cut the wind pretty good in the cold. Helps keep your feet warmer too. Nice to hear of others riding in the cold. |
Welcome from Gilbert, AZ (born and raised in Salt Lake City)
