This may be on the wrong forum, but question is not really mechanical, so here goes.
Has anyone here installed the " Brakeaway" throttle lock on Kury Iso Grips?
I know the new ones are supposed to work but I ain't into " supposed to" especially at $200 bucks.

Shep,
I installed the Breakaway over my Kury's with no problem. Had to really soap them up with dish washing liquid, but it worked. I've enjoyed using the breakaway for over two years.

The cost is pricey, but in my opinion, it's worth it.

I just installed one of the cheaper ones (manual type) on my bike about a weei ago..and man... not sure how I did without it!! As for sliding it onto the grip... the method I used might be useful for you Shep when you install yours. I used water instead of soap/water, but either will work, but I used a water bottle (like the kind you refil w/ a pull top...jogging bottle..etc) and once I put the ring onto the grip...placed the bottle lip against the ring and pushed it to slid the ring all the way to the base. It worked pretty good. Just a suggestion that might help a little.

Hopefully I will be able to try out your suggestions next week. The liquid soap is an old trick with rubber I learned while rebuilding Model T Fords. Many grooves for rubber seals and such on the old cars

Finally got around to installing the brake-a-way throttle lock.
Easy installation, but took a few minutes to get it adjusted correctly. A well made piece of gear all CNC machined and polished. Looks good works great, highly recommended.
BTW, getting it over the ISO grips was no problem.

I HAVE IT ON KURY GRIPS, WOULDN'T TRADE IT FOR A HUNDRED OF THOSE UNIVERSALS. IT'S A SWEET PIECE, WELL WORTH THE PRICE. AND YES YOU HAVE TO USE A LOT OF DISH SOAP TO GET IT OVER THE RUBBER HUMPS ON THE GRIPS. NICE WORK THERE.

Just put on the breakaway. Really nice piece. Only issue I had was trimming back the Chilliowee(sp?) lever cover so the under-dimple was clear.

I imagine this will be another item I'll fine tune for a couple weeks, but t is REALLY nice.

Do you have another Flip-a-Lever contact web site or phone number? Can't get into one you listed

Dr dixie

Go get the vista universal cruise control. Its 30 bucks at your local dealer (picked mine up at Honda) In my opionion it is superior to the flip a lever because the thumb engagement sits right where your thumb does naturally rather than underneath the grip. I put the vista on this week went for a good ride today and love it. Its nice to lock it in just long enough to stretch your hand out for a couple seconds. If adjusted properly it should hold the throttle but you can should still be able to roll the throttle in either direction.

Apparently, schneidersinc.com no longer exists. I wanted to get a flip-a-lever, I guess I waited too long. I can't find them anywhere else online for metrics.

Just there last week and now they're gone. Too many people wanted the vista cruise I guess.
