I never noticed this when riding in daylight; but last night I was riding for the first time after dark and realized I was constantly either stretching to look over the windshield or ducking to look through it because the top edge was directly in my line of sight. From what I can tell my bike has the original windshield adjusted to to the max height. I am around 6' 2". My thinking was that I should be looking over the windshield normally and that I should drop it down an inch or two; is this correct? I can't imagine having the windshield any higher... Thanks ???

Interesting I am about the same height and I look over it quite a bit. The prevailing theory is that the windshield should be about even with the bottom of your nose.

Lower it down a bit and see if you like it more, Looking through the top edge gets annoying after a while. And if its to high, it becomes a pain to see through in the rain.

Maybe my posture ain't what it used to be... :-/
Thanks for the input, I drop it down a little and see how that goes.

Sorry to keep hitting you guys with these trivial questions, but it is nice to have the benefit of all your experience... Thanks again

Hi Patrick.

No such thing as a trivial question. One of the main purposes of this board is to provide answers to questions, so ask away! :)

http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gifI am about your height and had about the same experience. I just replaced my stock shield with one from clearview and it is about an inch and a half shorter. Right now I have it all the way down and think I like that. It has a slight recurve to force the air up a bit. I will need to ride with my new Arai helmet and my form fitted ear buds to see where I want it.

bottom of nose or bride of nose...i know its only inches, but i too am 6'2" and see over the top of my shield as well....and in this posture i still get a bit of buffeting - especially at higher interstate speeds...wonder if lowering the shiel down to bottom of nose would decrease buffeting...hmmmm
