What windshield bags fit our Nomads without modification? I've been looking at the 3-piece set - something to drop keys, garage-door opener, etc in, but the one's I've found seem to need a bracket installed between the windshield cross-brace and the bag itself. Is there something bolt-on out there that works for everyone?

I just bought a River Road cheapie ($20) at Cycle Gear...I just drilled two holes through the bag and ran the windshield bolts through it. Been fine for 6 mos. Keep garage door opener and sunglasses in it.
I bought a "thin" bag so I did not have to buy longer bolts.

Ive never seen one specifically for Vulcans, but as schoeney mentioned they are easy to adapt to our bikes.

Mine is an ironhorse brand leather bag. has a metal bracket in the back with 2 pre-drilled holes. Fits perfect on the center two bolts to our windshield. easy mod. Cost about $70

I modified a "mans purse" or "fanny pack". I also used the two center bolts on the windscreen to attach it on to the bike.

Just a thought, but here's an alternative location for a windshield bag.
I can send you better picture if you want.

Doesn't Makaw offer a windshield bag anymore? They use to have a windshield bag for Nomads. That is where I got mine.

Is this like the one Doc was talking about....with the bar across the back that fits the two center bolts on the windshield...??
Pretty sure it's the same one Doc is talking about. Mine works that way.
My neighbor has the River Road bag from Cycle Gear on his 1500 Classic. Had to drill a hole for it but it works fine.

Here is a link to the one I bought. Not fancy but I wanted something easy to open/close with my gloves on. It has Velcro and no snaps so it fit my requirement.

That's an idea I've seen before - probably from Trip's site. I bought a bag intending for it to go back there, but it's too long. Now I use it as a tool kit and keep it locked in the right saddlebag. I need to measure the width in that area and find a bag that fits well.
I'm looking at this for a windshield bag. What confuses me is how you mount it (as in: what's that strip of leather behind the bags for?):
