Stopped by the dealer today and they had a new Nomad pretty close to the same color as mine. The bike looked smaller. Looking over the top of the bike I noticed quite a gap between the bags and fender which did not look as good. The bags were a step down as far as looks go for me anyway. loading from the top tho is a nice addition. The motor looked nice but too much of the flat painted frame took away from the rest of the nice lines. Would love to have that 6th gear and cruise tho. The cost was about 2 grand more than I paid for mine off the showroom floor.

The new Nomad are nice looking bikes compared to some others out there but, I can't get past the bags, the way the seat runs up the tank and the fact that Makaw shortened the distance between the floorboards and the seat as well as shortening the overall length of the bike.Congrats to those that own or want to own one but I don't see one in my future.

You can still get AudioVox Cruise Control CCS-100 on Ebay for under $100 that will work on the pre 2000 Nomads.

saw a 2009 as well. Pretty, but the bags are a miss. They look like an extra as opposed to designed for the bike.
My bud @ the dealership said the bike is 1" shorter in wheelbase to improve handling at low speeds, so the bike does seem slightly smaller. I didn't care much for the seat/tank combo. The tank looked much like earlier Nomads--definitely not the teardrop tank on my 07. I think separately, the tank and seat were ok, together, not so great. Also, they did clean up the wires just a bit around the handlebars nadn frame neck, but the flat black frame paint really left something to be desired imo. It did sound nice for stock though.

All in all, a pretty bike, but I think I like my 07 better. Interestingly enough, my bud at the shop said everyone there liked the earlier version as well.

I also saw one last week at the dealer. Put the old bags on and I think it would look good. I really didn't mind the seat/tank combo. Sat on it and the ergo's of the handlebars were better than the 06. Really didn't care for the bags. The floor boards seemed ok but I think you would have to take it for a spin before I can really say much. Really didn't care for the bags. The rear tail light assembly looked much cleaner than the pre 2009 versions. Did I say I really didn't care for the bags.

I think Kawasaki is shooting for the HD demographic. Smaller bike for smaller riders...GM did this with the suburban/yukon line. They tailor the vehicle for women. Not that there is anything wrong with women or smaller people, but if it doesn't fit, I can do without it.

I sat on the new Nomad at Daytona this year, and wasn't real crazy about it. I did like the classic though....a lot. Nice lines and fit like a glove. I'm only 5'8" by the way.

it seems that I'm in agreement with the majority of you. I don't care for the seat overlapping the tank and it seems they went backwards as far as the tank itself. I really like the longer swept look of the pre 2009 nomads tank. As far as the bags, thats my biggest gripe, i think the original style bags were the signature of the Nomad and were the best looking factory bags out there.
On the posative side I love the look of the new motor with 6 speed tranny and the electronic cruise control would be awesome to have. maybe the new nomad will grow on me over time, for now I'll stick with mine though :)
