Purchased a new 3/4 helmet last Saturday and as I was walking through the giant dealership and saw a 2007 Gold wing loaded with everything but the air bag. Royal Blue. one only at the price of $18,999! Man I felt like I was cheating everybody so I left!

Yep, I eyed a royal blue Goldwing when my hubbie was having his wing serviced. Couldn't help but thinking about how all the chrome accessories would look on that blue.

You're forgiven - go and sin no more.

Good man blowndodge! I'm proud of you for resisting that temptation. Just say no to the evil Wing!

I sat on it and jeez Louise! I had to dismount and leave! Had that been available when I bought my Nomad at that price which was 5K off the list. It would have been tough! But I left with my nomad! Whew

One thing that stops my temptation. I am vertically challenged on the Wing.......don't like tippee toeing with an 800+ lb bike.

I have a good friend that just bought a 2007 GW last week. In addition to the remote open saddlebags and trunk, it features adjustable headlight beams while your riding. I want one, but I doubt I would ever sell my Nomad. Having two bikes in the stable ain't bad.

blowndodge
08-06-2007, 10:59 AM
I was doing the math in my head, how much I could get for my bike, the difference for the wing and then I said run forest run!! I left!

They are really cool looking and I'm sure they are very comfortable, but it's like driving a car! They have everything under the sun, including air bags. I like the bike, but couldn't deal with the quiet pipes people.

I am with you Trip, "The director of my life" (Marla) said in a couple of years I can buy a GW if I still want one. That is after I buy her a bike. She is wanting to take the MSF course this Fall when it is not so hot sitting out in the sun.

bluetongue,
It's good that the director is giving you permission to possibly get one.

My master plan is to buy a used GoldWing in about 3 years. I want to buy a silver or black one with the Nav features. I also plan on keeping my Nomad. I've already started "working" on my wife toward that goal. I just paid my Nomad off early this year.

If I decide to buy a GW the Nomad is staying in the stable for when I want to do some cruising, you know kinda like having a touring car and a fun car.

Car is the key word bluetongue. Those GW's are too comfy. I would fall asleep at the handlebars.

08-06-2007, 08:30 PM
Ok.... let me know when... I'll join the GW club too....

New "Rider" just came with the 2008 Victory Vision Tour.... kinda space age GoldWingish....

I rode GW in between my two Nomads. Felt cramped behind all that dash. I don't like my feet directly under my butt. Also when I did ride one with highway pegs Im sure thats what it must be like for a woman at a gynecologist. All that fiberglass was so wide I felt like I was in position to drop a kid.

I rode a new Venture, along with a new Stratoliner, Roadstar Silverado, VTX 1800, & a V-Star 1100 the day I ended up getting the '99 Nomad........

The VTX 1800 had by far the most power.. handled great....but I just didn't like it, although it was probably the best overall bike there.......

The V-Star 1100 felt too small...

The Roadstar 1700 felt the same as the 2000 Roadstar 1600 I had...

The Stratoliner was the one I went in to buy.... the one I thought I wanted.....I was approved on the loan, it was all written up............. but at the last minute I backed out.....

It just felt like a bigger Roadstar.... I wasn't impressed enough even though they had it marked down form 17K + to 13K+.

The Venture ran rough, wouldn't idle... the stealer told me it was
because it sat for a few months.... got me worried about 4 carbs... (I have a Sabre V-45)

I rode it around running rough.... ran so rough it kinda scared me out of it......(they said they'd drain the tank, clean the carbs..... seemed like a few months on the showroom floor should not have made that kind of a difference)

I liked the looks, feel, and amenities though...
If it was running good I definately would have gotten it that day........

The '99 Nomad ran, looked, & felt so good.... I couldn't resist the price... my Roadstar (w 93,000 miles) & $2K..... (the Mustang seat clinched the deal) lol

If the Venture goes to FI..... !?! :)

Whatcha think GH....... and the rest of you smiters????
