I ran into another Nomad rider today who had some really cool little curved plexiglass wind protectors that basically protected his hands from the wind, rain and bugs. The brackets just attached to the base of each mirror.
I know some people make these things on their own...but he said he thought he got them from Whitehorse Motorcycle Gear. I looked at their web site and don't see them anywhere, but I ordered their catalogue just in case.
I'm not even sure what to call them, but some of you might have them. Does anybody know of a place online that sells these things? His were very nice, but after looking around a bit, I can't seem to find them anywhere. He bought them someplace...just not sure where..... :-/.
They would be a nice addition....any help fellas...thx??

I know Rifle used to make them but can't seem to find them on their website:

Pete
PS. Finally found the ones I was thinking of:

Look for hand deflector on the Cruiser Customizing web site if the link does not work right.
I also think I was wrong. It's National Cycle that makes them, not Rifle:

Check these out also:
http://www.nationalcycle.com/catalogue/CoolWeather.shtml
They show two part numbers:
N5511 which fits the 1500 Classic
N5543 which I couldn't figure out what it fits.
They don't show one for the 1600 Classic or Nomad but it looks like the N5511 ought to work?

Redeye has a set of those and he might pipe in here. He told me they don't work and wouldn't bother buying them had he know that. Riding year-round I would have got a set myself until his comments. Just to let you know... Buy beer instead this time

I have a set of hand deflectors from National Cycle and use them they help to block the cold air. If it is raining helps with this too.
I really do like mine, I have had them for 5 or 6 years.

Hey Kris, I like those at CycleMore, gonna order the large ones this week. Glad you brought this topic up, because I would have never thought of something like this. The large ones are only $48 plus shipping, not bad, and you don't have to do any drilling on your shield. Jamie

Jamie,
I just took a closer look at the windshield. It is curved, not straight, so we would have to get a custom set....
I have the ones from National Cycle, and used them winter of '07, but not this past winter ( I bought better gloves instead).
They work all right to shield the wind, but I thought the mirror mount to be a little weak. Even though our southern winters dont compare to the exteremes of the northern contingent; when the mercury is below 35 degrees, once your hands are cold, they're cold.

Thought maybe that was what it was, wonder if it is manual.

Thanks for the headsup Kris, I could have sworn that our shields were straight on the sides, close to the handlebars. I guess I won't be getting those. Just went out and checked and you're right. Jamie
