What's THAT???

What is the thing hangind down under the air cleaner housing on the right side of the motor? ??? It's a black cable that appears to have a threaded end on it.

And, has anybody seen my Owner's Manual??? Probably buried under all the Christmas boxes that still need to go back to storage http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif

That would be your Idle adjustment. There should be a knob for it hiding up there someplace too.

+1, yes it the idle adjustment cable with a black plastic nut on the end with a bolt inside that for adjusting. Crank it down real low and she sounds gooooood. :-)

Now I'm here to tell you what not to do. Don't turn the dang thing until the cable falls off. It's a bugger to (1) figure out where it threads into and (2) how to thread it back in. This happened to m... uh, a guy I know today.

If it wasn't for this thread, I.. er, he wouldn't have known what to do. Thanks to Doc and 01Nomad for their explanations.
