All of you in the south are probably getting tired of hearing about springtime in the north, but when you're this happy you've got to tell someone! It warmed up to 64 here today, and the Nomad finally got out of the garage and for a ride. It fired to life on the second try after checking everything out and putting a couple psi in both tires.
I put my Nomad in the garage on November 18, so it's been nearly 5 months since I've ridden. It stinks waiting that long, but the feeling I get on the first ride of spring each year is tough to put into words, and I'm an English teacher! I put on just under 100 miles today, and boy did it feel good!
For those of you still waiting for spring's first ride, I hope it arrives soon! Welcome spring!

Congrats PC!!!!!!!
I found out how good it finally felt about a month ago (but I was lucky...actually have ridden at least one day every month....breaks in weather). You must feel alive again.

We ride year-round here too. None the less, I relate to the joy of Spring. Shed the engine guard chaps two weeks ago. Packed the neck warmer last week, and pulled the liner out of the leathers today.
Hope you have a great riding season.....

nice to feel the wind again ? hope the weather stays warm for you. it has been a long winter for sure
Welcome back to the highways and byways. Even though I ride on and off through the winter, sure is good to get out when its in the 60s and starting to turn green.

Let's hear it for the Spring Thaw!!
Although, it is supposed to snow here tomorrow.
Still that first ride of spring after the long winter is amazing.

I know how it feels, Ive been out a few times here and there the last couple weeks, in between snow storms. I think its all over here and it should start warming up. I think I have the bike in shape for the season, and look forward to putting on a few miles myself.

Good for you PC. It's a shame you have to park the bike for so long but that's the price you pay to live in the beautiful north.

There is nothing like being back in the saddle again. I count my blessings that I can ride year-a-round. I'm spoiled and loving it. Keep it upright and knees in the breeze.

Wow, anything over 40°F is riding weather (provided the roads are clear of sand and salt). Not too many good weekends yet but the first 500 miles of the year are rolled off http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif
