I found this on craigslist in texas,I really like the bars with no windsheild look. But where are the front turn signals? And where the hell are the mirrors?

Very nice looking bike.

Makes it look like a meanstreak on steroids.

Very cool, completely changes the look and also changes the function of the bike though. It looks great, but I like the 'touring' capabilities the removed items give.

I found the add in the Houston area. That is a wicked looking Nomad. If I had the cash, I would be headed to Conroe this weekend.

The beauty of it is we all have this same bike underneath all the extras...at no extra charge!

Another advantage to buying a Nomad.

That's what I love about the Nomad. You can lose the Windshield, lowers, backrest and passenger seat in a few minutes to suit your mood or weather.

Here's the description:

2001 Kawasaki Nomad Fi, 33k miles, Texas Rebuilt title. $4500 This has been my personal bike for the past 4 years, its been lowered, has progressive front and rear suspention, Corbin Gun Fighter saddle, lots of extra chrome. The engine was left bone stock so its reliable for the long 2 to 3 week trips I took on her. Some of the aftermarket chrome is blistering, but from 5 feet this bike looks very cool. I have got a lot of complements on this bike. it cruses the highway increadably smooth!

I have the Gunfighter seat on my Sick Puppy. It is way more comfy that the stock Suzuki seat, but I find the stock Nomad seat to be better than both of them.

Different, Yes, just not my cup of tea. I bought a Nomad so I wouldn't have to add on all the extras. I will admit it catches your eye, but so do a lot of things.

originally that was the look I was going to go for with my Nomad, I have a SWEET set of FAT 1.5" diameter T-Bars that I used to run on my 1500 classic. Those pictures are tempting me to go ahead and put them on my bike. I was thinking of doing 16" apes but now...hmmmmm :-/

If you went to 1.5" bars, wouldn't you also have to replace your switch housings, risers and everything else that mounts to the handlebars? $$$!

Cactusjack, depends...if I use the 1.5" drag / T-Bars that i have which are similar design to what was pictured on that Nomad, then no. You don't need risers cause the risers are built into the T-bar and as far as the grips, switch housings and all handlebar controls, well the ends of the bars where all that mounts are actually 1" diameter so the stock parts fit right on. Like I said, I had them mounted on my 1500 classic.
Now, if i go with the 1.5" Kong bar Ape hangers, then for those I would have to buy new risers that accept 1.5" bars but all of the controls would still fit since the ends are turned down to 1".
here's a picture of the bars that I have from my old bike, you can sort of see how everything mounts.

Hey Lasse...that trailor of yours is AWESOME, I haven't seen one like that before, what brand is it? I love the paint job and the whitewall tires. Ties in beautifully to your bike, which is also very sweet

and the paint booth?

Not the paintbooth, that´s all done. I´ve been changing
the handlebars to beachbar.. I just love it..Quite wide though,
39 inches (100 cm). Had to lengthen all wires, hoses and
electrical wires.. http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif But now it´s all done. And I´ve also
made some taillights for my trailer, turned out rather nice.. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

when I was showing it to a friend of mne at work yesterday I mentioned that possibly you had made it since neither of us had seen one similar before. You did a GREAT job on it, I'd have to say its the nicest trailor I've ever seen. Also the paint design is perfect. I can imagine that when your pulling that trailor with your bike, the whole package really turns some heads.

Hey Lasse,

Just checked out your website, [wish there was a translation] excellent job on the Nomad. You have a very good taste and must be skilled to do all that work.

How do you keep those whitewalls so clean?

Cheers,

Elvis

No pressure there Lasse.

Just an idea for your website: Build another one in English from scratch to avoid the translation. Based on my own experience traveling around Europe, I find that people from Scandinavian countries speak English more fluently compared to people from say, France, Italy or Germany. I have worked on ships that were built in Sweden and Norway had excellent manuals in English.

While I cannot help you with the website content, I can assist you with building the website, html coding, etc. if you need it.

Well, I should shut up, didnt mean to hijack the thread but I guess I got carried away, sorry guys.

Cheers,

E.

Back to the original bike...

I saw another '01 like this on my way out to the church (SE Portland Metro area) a week ago. He to took off the windshield and put beachbars with Kury grips on it. It had a nice sound too with Cobra pipes and no goat belly. Interestingly, he had less than 20K miles on it (and the stickers still on the saddlebags)...but it sure looked nice!
