I removed my left handle grip to install new grips. The end cap was threaded to a fixed rod? sticking out the end of the bar. Does anyone know what this is? I put the new grip on with this thing sticking out.

That's the way it comes from the factory.

What do you mean "sticking out?" You mean that you didn't try to remove it, but your new grip covers it, right? If so, ya' done good.

If it's sticking out from the new grip, ya' didn't do so good afterall.

No , the new grip covers it. What the heck is the purpose of this?
The throttle side didnt have one.
Should i try to remove it? it seems like its in there pretty solid.

The purpose of the rod is to provide a place to screw the end cap on. I wouldn't try to remove it.

The new grips dont have a end cap. I just slid the grip up as far as it would go.
Thanks Bob

Broke mine off so the new Kurys would go a little further up the bar.

Mine was spot welded on.
