On the poll, right now its 70 to 14 percent in favor of the 1600's being owned by forum members. Why's that?

Here's one theory, new 1600 owners are searching the net for information on the bike as a new owner. The 1500 owners might be a group that's owned them for a long time and aren't as curious and haven't stumbled on to this site yet.

Just a stab in the dark. Why do you guys think that there's 3 times more 1600 owners here?

Because they're BIGGER.

Hey donguer , that looks like a cobra rack on the back of your bike. If so, did it fit right out of the box? I just got mine in the mail and it isn't even close. I am going to have to make an extra bracket for it to fit.
Yeah, yeah, I know you guys I am off topic but if Nico , BD , Todd. Beezer and all those other crazy guys can do it I figure I can once in a while.

Could be something to Dan's theory, 1500s out-number 1600s almost 3 to on VROC. Of course, folks been registering there for ten years and a lot have dropped out of site before the 1600 debuted.

Because they're BIGGER.

But those 1500's can't have so many in the bone yards that there are only 1/3 as many here. There out there somewhere, but why not here?

I started on the VROC board but it is too hard to follow sometimes. So I am over here a lot more than there. I love my 1500.

It is a Cobra. I had no problems. The trick was to make sure the store you bought it from didn't sell you the one for the wrong year. I'm not trying to be a smart a** but there is a diffence between years.

Doc, I suspect you have the rack for the Cobra Sissy Bar, which won't fit the stock Nomad bar. I use a Cobra rack and had to make an extra 2" bracket to reach the bottom bolts. Do this or return it for a Kawasaki rack. I think they're mfg. by Fire & Steel. By the way - nice rip of the thread man!

Cobra makes a rack to fit the OEM Nomad backrest. They also make racks that fit only the Cobra backrest. Which rack do you have?

It is in the sellers section of this forum now. There are pictures and measurments. I know it doesn't fit my 1600 with out me having to make my own brackets and thats not going to happen ::)

My 1500 Nomad is out in the shop waiting for the first sign of spring.....I'd like to find another 2002 - 2004 Nomad for my wife. She has a 1990 VT1100 Shadow and I'm sure she would enjoy the Nomad much better.....
