I'm thinking about longer handlebars for my 05 Nomad and read that the 06 Nomads have bars 2" longer than the 05. http://nomad.eurekaboy.com/risers.htm
I already have Phat II risers, which help with the pullback considerably, but I'm looking for as much pullback as I can get (lower back issues http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif). So, for those of you who have replaced the bars...
1. What did you get?
2. How do they compare to stock (and for which year)?
3. Where did you get them?
4. Do you have stock risers or aftermarkets?
5. Did you have to replace your cables? I'm certain I'll need to.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have run four different bars including stock. They included a star bar, similar to a beach-bar, drag bars that don’t need to be discussed, a Harley Road King bar, and the stock bars, which I’m back to now with PhattII’s.
I’m 5’8” with a 30” inseam. I always like more pullback as well. While I haven’t tried this yet, next I would go with about 18” ape’s, running off stock risers. You can adjust them back toward yourself, and add your Phatt’s if needed.
Well, just an idea anyway…… good luck.

stock bars are Height: 6"
Pullback: 14"
Center: 9"
Width:33"
I'm 5'7" So when I bought my 02 I asked the dealer which is a friend of mine what were some of the things people changed out on their Kawasaki's and he said bars, and recommend the Flanders Heritage bars, the measurement for them are
Height: 7.75"
Pullback:15"
Center: 8.5"
Width: 35"
I have Sherms risers which are close to the platt's ( hight & pullback) and this seems like a perfect fit for me. Did not have to change any cables, but did have to reroute them.

Mark,
I got:
DCS 18" APE HANGERS 1-1/4" DIAMETER HANDLEBARS;
Part No: DCS-18APE; $174.95 from meancycles.com
18" rise, 8.5" backward sweep, 1 1/4"-diameter.
Center section tapers to 1" so that standard handlebar controls fit.
36" wide from tip to tip.
+4" SS Braided brake line set - front & +6" SS Braided hydraulic clutch line
Part No: FK003D411-3+4 & FK003D411CL+6; $124.99 & $55.95
from hellrisercustoms.com
Barnett SS Throttle Cable set, I think from Scootworks for $86.95.
I also had to extend the wiring 6 inches by soldering pieces of wire into the existing wires.
I think the riding position is wonderful. My shoulders and neck stay relaxed and comfortable for the long haul. Much better for me than with the lower hand position.

Thanks Valdez, Scoot and Pablo. Your comments are very helpful. Everyone might be interested in this link on stock handlebar dimensions.

Conspicuous by it's absence is the 05 Nomad 1600 (which I ride, of course). As best I can guess, Kawa used the 1500 Nomad bars on the 05 models, then switched to taller bars and wider for 16 - 08. No wonder I was leaning forward so much with stock risers.
