Hey guys and gals,
I am promised to get my bike back next week. I have planned a ride on April 10th for 2 to three days. It's the only time I have for a little longer ride. Back latest on 12th April. Starting in Tucson. Thought of going through Globe, Show Low, Alpine, through Silver City and back. It's not a fixed route so far. Detours are welcome. Or maybe an entirely different route to somewhere else. I don't mind http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif Would love to have some company if anyone is interested. Let me know :-*

Sounds fun...especially since we're just coming off of a blizzard here.
Wish I was a little bit closer.
Have a ball!

Blizzard? It was a bit windy here the other day. Tucson is always the same: boring sunny weather. LOL

Tucson was REALLY windy when I rode through there last Sunday. I'd like to join you, but that ride is a little too long for me.

How about just a day ride then instead? Friday or Saturday?

Cougar, when you want to do one in the summer, Colorado is just a day away!

hey Cougar,
I am local to you and always looking for an excuse to go for a ride. I am willing and able to go for a day ride that weekend. Be nice to meet up with a fellow Nomad rider as well.

Dan,
Thanks for the invite. I will be looking into that in the summer. I heard you guys got snow up there :( I have another friend living in Colorado. What town are you in?

Scott and Dolanz :)
Saturday would work great for me. How about a ride through Sonoita, Patagonia, back route through Bisbee and Tombstone?? Have lunch somewhere along the route? I leave it up to Scott when we meet. 10 am would be a good time for me. :) How about at the TTT at the I10. It's right off of Craycroft and I10, exit 268 (I believe), easy to find.

Oh, I will get my bike back this Saturday evening. It's all fixed. New engine. I can ride mellow since it has to be broken in.

Dolanz, are you here in Tucson?? For real? So cool! I hope I don't forget my camera

Cougar, I live in Denver, Ells lives in Boulder, Audio lives in Colorado Springs and there are a few others here and there in the state.

We get together for little rides here and there, and did an overnight in Durango last year. You are certainly welcome to join us anytime.

Cougar, lets plan on meeting at TTT at 10 am Saturday the 11th. Looking forward to meeting you. I have only seen a couple of Nomads in Tucson, finally glad to meet up with one of the few.

Keep in mind I am 90 minutes N of you. What is the TTT? Bar, gas station??? I have only been to Tucson a few times in 10 years, so not overly familiar with the area.

The TTT is a truck stop, gas station, restaurant. Can't miss is. They have the huge sign with three red TTTs on it on the left side of the I10 (when you come from Phx). So, 10 am works for you, Scott?

Yeah, 10:00 should be okay. If I leave here around 8:30, I should be there by 10. I seldom travel I-10 when going to Tucson, I usually come in on the Oracle Hwy, so that may be why the TTT didn't ring a bell.

I am not currently scheduled to work next Saturday, but if something should change, I'll let you know.

I got my bike back! I got my bike back!! I got mY BIKE BAAACCCCKKKK!! Yeah yeah and yippie!!
I kissed it and hugged it and I still cannot believe it's back in my yard! And it rides so smooth. Not that it didn't ride great before. I went up and down the street. I might take it out for a little spin tomorrow. And guess what. The last three bike-less months I don't think I had any real happy smiles in my face. You know these smiles that come from your heart. And as soon as I sat on my bike and we went down the street, I got this big fat grin in my face and it is still there. I am a grinny rider, I can't help it.

Alrighty. Looking forward to our Nomad drive. Yeah, yeah, and yippie

Which exit off of I-10 is TTT?

dolanz
04-07-2009, 11:31 AM
TTT is just off of the Highway at:

I-10 at Craycroft (Exit 268)

It is south of the downtown construction that is going on on I-10. If you know Tucson, there isn't an easy was to get around the construction. I would just recommend taking the detour (I-10 frontage road) after getting into town from Oracle. I think that getting on the 10 detour at Miracle mile would be easier than staying on the surface streets. Then get back on I-10 after the construction section and continue the few miles more to the meet-up.

If you need more info let me know.

That should work. I know where Miracle Mile is. I was debating taking I-10 all the way down, which would be a white-knuckle ride, or taking the "easy" Oracle Hwy. I'll take Oracle Hwy into Tucson and turn onto MM and get on I-10 there.

PM me your cell# so I can call you if I get lost and need directions. ::)

Thought you guys lived in a desert?? http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

For the pics, they need to be uploaded to a picture sharing site like Photobucket then you can post the address for people to go and see them or paste individual photo's address within the text of a message in between the characters , which you can get by just clicking on the little framed picture icon from the group above where you create a message.

For an example, just hit "Quote" for a message that someone else has inserted a photo, not the sig, and you will see how its done.

Looking forward to seeing them

It rained like crazy here in Chandler for a good 3 hours this morning. Might not have any more rain until the monsoon hits in July, so we take what we can get.

Get this - they were even predicting SNOW in the mountains around Tucson, which is where we were going to go.

It did snow on Mt Lemmon, looks like at about the 6-7,000 foot level.
