Well, hubby is very happy these days! He has been wanting to get the XM Radio with the live traffic for a while now. So, for Valentine's Day I got him the Garmin antenna to use with his ZUMO. He got the bracket for the antenna and installed it. Then, this week, he was finally able to call and activate his XM subscription!!!! Since we LOVE to trave and have many trips planned for the summer, I am excited about the live traffic and weather additions. Oh, and since he has the hookup for the ZUMO in his truck, we'll be able to listen to it there also.
How many others enjoy XM or Sirrus on their bikes? http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I do think it takes a unique kind of love....a mutual biking obession to have these kinds of exchanges http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

That's GREAT! I think it must be the BEST to have on your bike, so I figure there must be lots of satellite radio riders on the road! http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

I taking my wife with me to the Custer for a week during the National Rally for our anniversary this year. She loves to ride just not on her own bike, and she will only ride with me.

That sounds like a great time for you both....let me warn you though.....that's how I started out too....until I went to more and more gatherings and met more and more women on their own bikes!!!! I took the MSF "only so I knew what to do in an emergency"...HA! ::) After that I was hooked!!!!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Before I got divorced I tried to get my wife to get her motorcycle license because I knew she would enjoy riding her own bike, but she bombed out on the MSF course and was more than content to ride with me. My GF wants to get her own bike and license, but a bad knee injury last year is preventing her. She wants to get one of those CanAm Spyders though.

I have Sirius on my Nomad. Well, I guess it's Sirius/XM now that they've merged. I have the motorcycle mount for my Sportster 4 radio, and I wear ear buds to listen to the radio. I absolutely love it for times when I feel like listening. There are times when I just want to hear the sound of the road, though.
I hope that Sirius/XM does not go bankrupt, as I have heard is very possible. I would miss it, as we listen to it all the time, whether it be on the bike, in the car, or in the house. We don't have a lot of quality radio stations here in ND.

Yes, I've read several articles online and in the paper about how the economy is affecting satellite radio subscriptions. I guess it would be considered a "luxury" item, so things like that are not on top of the priority list for people struggling to make ends meet. The Wall Street Journal article I read about it blamed the lower new car sales for part of their problem. Some new vehicles come with a free trial subscription to satellite radio, and many buyers end up purchasing a subscription once the trial is over.

I've been am XM radio fan since their first year. Could not live without it in my cube-of-depair everday at work. :) I don't have it on my bike though, but do have several home kits, car kits, a boombox and even a car kit in our travel trailer.
Anyway here's a tip. I called about a price increase e-mail they sent me and told them I was going to leave unless they gave me a better price. It went from $143 a year to $77, so ask for a better deal.

I used to subscribe to Sirius but cancelled due to hard times. Got a call last year to join again with lifetime subscription. Wish i had took the offer, looked today to re subscribe, dang it got even higher since the merger.

I guess this is just another indication that I'm odd.
I like to listen to music/sports radio in my car, but I have no interest in listening to anything while I'm riding my bike.
