Can anyone tell me if these will fit an 05 1600 Nomad? The look nice and the price is pretty good as well.

Can't say for sure, but from what I remember there is a difference between even the 1600 classic and the Nomad, so I would not expect them to work.

Not sure eithor but at 5.5" hight I would say you would need longer break lines!!

I say yes they will fit.......But no Garantees.
I do know that the stock risers on the 900 Classic LT and the stock risers on the 1600 Nomad are exactly the same.
I've had both bikes but still have the stock risers from the 900 in my possesion and they are identical.
As far as height goes....I know you can put 3 inch extentions under the stock risers on a Nomad (which is about 4.5 inches total) and the cables and lines are fine.
I say they fit...but I won't buy them from you if they don't.........LOL

That makes it sound like there is a better chance for sure.

I have heard people that tried the Phat II risers and on some Nomads they fit in the center holes without issues, and others can't even use them if they use the offset holes. It seems that not all Nomads are created equal (or the risers more likely). I would be concerned with them hitting the speedo cowling (or whatever it is called). For price might be worth trying though...but if they don't fit, I won't buy them either.... http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Come on guys. If they don't fit I'm looking for someone to pay me back. (:

I might not need that high of risers. They also offer a 3.5" which might be better. I'm 5'9" and the stock risers are quite a reach for me.

Isn't there someone on the forum that makes risers? If so, how can I get in contact with them??

I think chuckster makes some from what I hear, and they are suposed to be very good!

He's a member here, you can pm "chuckster131" or email chuckster1_31@comcast.net.

I ordered the 7" backing plate and he is great to deal with!!!

I'm 5 ft 9, though I used to be 5ft 10. (I'm shrinking). :) :) The reviews on risers are Phatt II's work but the cables can be tight, (So I've read). When I was looking for risers the ones I was interested in was the AEROMACH risers because I think they looked better IMPO than the Phatt II's. But at the time AEROMACH seemed to have supply issues.

Then someone told me about chuckster who is a member and makes a few things for the Nomad. I bought 2 1/2 inch risers from him made out of polished aluminum and come with quality hardware. For me....... I sit pretty straight so they work well. The issue with chuckster is his risers are straight with no pullback to them. So, the rake angle of the front end and height of the actual riser is what keeps you from leaning forward as much. The PHAT II's and AREOMACH ones are shaped to come toward the rider as well. I was concerned about this when I bought mine but for me, it worked out real well and they look good.

Anyway Joes e-mail is:

He also makes larger lowers.

I installed PhatII risers on my '04 Nomad 1500FI. The cables are tighter than I am comfortable with -- thus I moved the clutch and brake units forward a bit on the bars to relax the cables some.

With the height of the risers I had no choice but to use the offset holes. The center holes would have the risers banging into the speedo cowling.

The original risers caused "round" marks where they attached on the polished aluminum and the PhatII risers do not cover these marks -- which absolutely drives me nuts. Not really sure how to camoflage the marks.

I do like the rise and setback they give me though and were a major improvement to my comfort in riding. (I am 5' 7" on a tall-day)
