Rack

I tried a search without any luck.

I have been trying to find a luggage rack for my '06 1600 Classic passenger backrest. The Kawasaki website is no help.

I read somewhere that a Cobra rack will fit the OEM Nomad backrest but since it didn't mention the 1600 Classic at the same time I didn't know if the fitment is the same.

Does anyone know if a Cobra rack will fit the Classic backrest and if so which one? If not are there any other recommendations?

The Nomad backrest is pretty unique, I wouldn't think anything made for it would bolt on any other backrest. Cobra makes a rack for the 1600 Classic, but it only bolts to the Cobra sissy bar.

I got a Cobra rack that is made to bolt onto the factory backrest. Guys from another forum talked about how the Cobra rack sits a little lower to let a T-Bag sit better. They also talked about having to trim the rear reflector to get the rack to fit but I didn't need any modification to get it to fit.

I got it from cruisercustomizing.com $123.90 with shipping. I verified with them that it would fit the factory backrest prior to ordering.

Thanks for the help. It led me to find a rack that might fit the OEM backrest on the 1600 Classic. Jardine appears to make the only one that will fit.

It seems strange to me that a great bike that has been out for a few years like the 1600 Classic has so few aftermarket parts.
