One near the top of my list would just be an open house at the dealer I bought my bike. You could sign up for test rides on different bikes and I ended up going for about 2 1/2 hours of test rides.

Checking out different bikes was fun. I liked the Yamaha FJ1300. By hanging back a little at the rear, then catching up, I was able to go 120mph a few times. Suzuki had a fast cruiser, can't remember the name of it, but it was fast.

Just the atmosphere of being early in the riding season, lots of bike type guys talking bikes, eating bbq, and test riding a bunch of bike was a pretty fun day.

A close 2nd would just be one of the day rides that I went on here in Colorado. I usually go about 300 miles and find a road that I haven't been on yet. The ride from my sig line stands out as one of the really good ones.

My favorite day in 2007 was the three days I spent riding Utah. It'll be a while before something tops that.

Easy, September 29th, 2007; Fallen Officer Memorial Ride. About 200 bikes raising money for a Memorial to honor Officers that have given their lives in the line of duty in this area. Great ride, lots of bikes and bikers and good food, and we raised a bunch of money. Mine was the only yellow bagger there. Seen one real good looking Purple Nomad with a fantasy paint job of skulls deep in the purple. Only two Nomads there.
Ride safe,
Dano

I can't say they were my favorite day's but they were the most honorable day's. When I stood guard at the repatriation of our Canadian fallen soldiers. We the CAV ride to Trenton to meet the flight coming in with the wounded and the dead. Then its the 100 mile ride on the Highway of Heroes to Toronto. There were to many days like that this year and we have another one this Wednesday. With the starting of the new year I hope there won't be many this year.

My ride through Vermont and the Adirondacks. Perfect weather for riding and site seeing.

Hey Dan Lund.....I think the Suzuki you're talking about is the M109.

Got to be two:

First was the first trip on the new Nomad. 150 miles and I felt like the king of the road on my new wheels. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Second was leading a group of about 1500 riders in our local March of Dimes "Bikers for Babies" charity ride.

Happy, healthy, safe, and prosperous new year to all.

A perfect June day when me and my wife rode out to Price, UT on highway 6. Did 300 miles that day while grandma and grandpa watched the babies.

The day last Fall when I rode the Cherohala Skyway. The day was beautiful and the Fall colors were out in all their glory. That was the longest ride I've taken so far, about 400 miles and 9 hours from leaving to getting back home. The only downside was having to ride through metro Atlanta going and coming. It was sure worth it though.

Two days come to mind:

1) The annual ride the wife and I take down the La Bahia Scenic Highway, FM390, just down the road from Bryan/College Station. The best time obviously is during the start of the growing season in March.

2) The day I got my Cobra True Dual Slashcuts in. I was exhausted when I got home from work that day, and only set out to unbox everything. Well, long story short, I wound up doing the whole swap-out that night.

I've got two.
The first weekend of August our Motorcycle Fellowship, Celebration Riders, goes on a 3 day ride. Then on the 3rd weekend of August me a couple buddies do a 4 day motorcycle camping trip.

Well, one weekend in August I finally just laid everything down and took off on the bike. A close friend in Farmington NM has been wanting me to come down and visit and then another long time friend called and said he just bought a new Triumph (It's a 2007 version of the 1972 Bonneville. Only with better ignition, disc brakes and no leaks! Black with a blacked out engine...pretty cool looking scoot) and wanted to ride. So at the last minute I made the neccesary calls to free myself from work obligations and the two of us headed SW out of Colorado Springs. We went down through Del Norte and over Wolf Creek Pass to Durango and then spent Saturday night in Farmington. Nice ride and a good time.
Sunday morning we headed North through Durango and rode 550 through Silverton and Ouray up to Montose. WOW!!! Absolutely the most beautiful ride I have ever taken. I had never ridden that particular stretch of hwy before and it is simply breath taking!
I want to move to Silverton. Love it there.
Did around 900 miles, back home late Sunday afternoon and it was just what I needed. All the stress just kinda melts away on a ride like that, yanno?
Just wanted to share so if any of you are in SW Colorado it's a ride you don't want to miss.

audio, I've been through Durango & Silverton many, many moons ago. It was August at the time, and I remember it was freezing in Silverton, at least to this Texas boy. Definitely jacket weather.

You actually rode your bike through the pass from Durango to Silverton? http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif I take my hat off to you...I was in a car at the time, and at night. I hit a deer (which spiderwebbed the paint job on the front end of my 82 Camaro), and was pretty freaked out the remainder of the drive into Silverton.

Dunno, if I'll ever make it back that way, but I can definitely attest to the beauty of the rode you took. Quite amazing, it is. I've always wanted to go back through New Mexico, though. I really liked the drive from Clines Corners, up through Santa Fe, Espanola, Chama, and so on.

Not sure which was my best, but the worst day riding the Nomad was better than the best day doing anything else. Although, the July ride over Red Mt. Pass sort of stands out.

burkazoid,
It was daylight when I did it. I still regret not stopping to shoot some pics, but I was just enjoying the experience too much to think about that!
It was definietly chaps and jacket weather, but not really cold. In the 50's and 60's as I recall.
I'll definitely head back that way again soon.

Early September, don't remember the date. I flew out of Birmingham, Al. into Kansas City, Ks to pick up my 04 Nomad. It was raining, (hard ). Got on a strange bike in a strange town and headed for St. Louis. Left St. Louis at 6:00 AM, it was raining (hard). It rained (hard) until I got 60 miles north of Nashville, Tn. and then sunshine and mid 80's. GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!

Now that's cool. It's like the sun knows you're on your bike, and comes out just for you.

Riding down to Austin last year for the ROT rally with a bunch of chopper riders. Every time we stopped, they had to stretch or fix something on a bike. I just enjoyed my ride.

Also, riding in my first two toy runs for kids this year. The first had 2500 and the second had about 30,000.
