All I can say after bringing the bike home yesterday. Rode home on the stock seat and a sore butt when I got here, after replacing the seat with a Mustang w/backrest, oh my God the difference is night and day. My only regret was why the heck did I wait this long to get the Nomad!

Previous bike was a KZ 650 and in total honesty, the Nomad doesn't feel any heavier except for backing it up a hill in a parking lot which amazes me for the size of it. I am only 5'9 150 nothing and it am shocked on how well this handles. Handlebars are solid, no wobbling for those in another post concerned with the wobble. I can feel the handlebars wiggle a bit on some of the roads I got onto this afternoon but the bike never wiggled off track in the slightest. I have never ridden a more solid ride than this and can't wait until Spring Break.

I just hope not following the break-in recommendations doesn't void a warranty http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

Took two hours on some back roads on the way home from the dealer and the first ten miles were a concern. After that, the first road sign I saw with a winding road symbol, a big grin formed on my face as I started laughing to myself. Spent another couple of hours on country roads after work this afternoon and I am grinning anew.

Thanks to all KawaNOW members for all of the incredibly valuable and interesting information prior to getting it.

Happy riding on your new bike, it really looks great. Even though it's slower than the black ones, there is something beautiful about the color combo.

Congrats! Nice bike! http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif I wish the Mustang was that successful for me, but I know most people that get them love them, especially with the backrest.

Very nice! I like my Nomad more every time I ride it. Enjoy your new bike and stay safe!

Glad your enjoying it. If I bought a new one I would trade my black pearl for the slightly slower red and black. I loved it on the 02's and love it again on the 08's.

Good-looking bike you got there, Jack. And you do have the best color on it, black.. It looks like it's ready for some serious riding now.

Great looking Bike--bet you can't stop smiling.

As for the breakin----Ride it hard--or as they say--ride it like you just stole it-Your engine will thankyou.----(of course I can't recommend speeding --)

check out the "second school of thought" I found on gadgets sight.

Paul: I read that site and honestly he made sense and if nothing else I was not too concerned about riding it hard after I studied his site and I got used to the bike. Saw one manufacturer puts all the machines on a hard dyna run to break them in before shipping and wonder of Kawa does anything with them before shipping.

I did get a few hard on the throttle and release throttle slowing against the engine within the first twenty miles and by forty miles, already to indicated 90 before backing off.

Used some of the ideas there, I still believe the break-in period is a MC Mfg. CYA type of thing any more ::)

I can't imagine keeping it under 60 for the first 600 miles, it is meant to ride ::) ::) ::)

caddman: I bet I could find you some pinstripe close to the red color to dress up the black ::)

Thanks everyone for all the congrats!
