Hi and thanks for looking in.

I have an '84 Yamaha Venture trunk on the Nomad, and I am looking for a rack that will fit the top. I don't care for the org. style that was available back then and would like to find one with,...... a newer "look".
Has anyone put a rack on their older Venture trunk?
Thanks for any help on this.

Rickyboy,
I have an '84 Venture trunk I am fixing up to put on my Nad, it came with a top rack and I don't think I will be putting it back on the trunk.
Let me see if I can get you a picture of it. It is stored away in the shed for the winter.
The chrome is good no scratches scrapes or dings.

Rickyboy,
Have you installed this rack? If you do not mind, pls post some pictures. I have the same trunk and I would like to see what it looks like installed before looking for one for my bike.

Thanks

I haven't even got it home yet kioti. I'll pick it up tomorrow { Thursday } Maybe get it on over the weekend. I have a tire and swing arm to do this weekend as well. I will post some picks once it's on .....providing I like the look. The pic's look good that you sent kioti, but I'll reserve judgment till I have it sitting on the trunk, and know what it looks like. Thanks by the way kioti, it arrived on time as promised.

Oh !! btw kioti, was there any hardware with the rack? ie. nuts, bolts washers?? Just wondering.

Yes the screws are screwed into the rack but I would replace then since they were sort of rusty when I removed them last year.

I picked up the rack today. I had to go out tonight so I didn't get a good look at it till just a few minutes ago. I removed the screws/bolts and sat it on the trunk and I think it's going to look good. I wasn't real keen on the style when I first saw a picture of the older rack on a Venture trunk.
I brought it up and gave it a once over with the S.O.S. pad to get rid of a tiny bit of service rust on the underside. I also took the V 1200 tag off, that was stuck on the top of the rack. I like it and think it looks great. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif I'll have to install it on the weekend. I'll run down and pick up some S.S. bolts and washers for it tomorrow. Like you said those orig. ones are pretty scabby looking. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif "O Oh "! Now I have to take my balls out of my purse and drill four holes in the trunk. http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif
Thanks kioti I'll post pic's ASAP

Ah yes...drilling holes in a nicely painted trunk definitely ups the sphincter factor! http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

audio,...sphincter factor!.....it was like "a bulls ass in fly time", if you know what I mean. But I got it done.
In case you didn't catch the photos of the rack installed,...in the "Nomad/Motorcycle related".... forum here they are. I'm real happy the way it turned out, and I appreciate the heads up and offer to sell kioti.
