I haven't played golf in years. I played quite often as a kid in tournaments but lost interest. I picked up tennis as my favored sport.

I play what I call golf. As for handicap, It's everything that happens after I load the clubs in the cart. On the other hand, I get more for my greens fees than those who dont shoot over 100 consistently.

I gave the game a try. Took some lessons, played three times a week or so, and spent a cuppala daze at the driving range each week, but when I threw my 3-wood up into a tree, I knew it was time to quit.

Played in college at Long Beach State with Mark O'Mera and had a +1 handicap. Now? would struggle to break 80. Putting is the first thing to go. Can still take it back and hit it on the screws, just can't score anymore.

I played up until a few years ago. I was also into archery tournaments , and motorcycles.
Then I meant Cindy and we started doing stuff together. I had her try golf, she didn't like it to much. I got her into archery 3-D tournaments and she loved it and was real good at it. We went every weekend.
I hadn't had a bike for a few years. I mentioned I would like to get back into motorcycling and she thought she might enjoy that.
Long story short, we shoot about 3 archery tournaments a year and ride the bike every chance we get http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Never took it up. Too many other things that I love to do and don't have time for already. Now, I'm down to fly fishing and riding the Nomad. Can do both at the same time. Nomad is my fav fishing rig.

At one time I was into archery big time. Shot on the Martin Archery field staff for a while and won $ at a Vegas indoor tournament as a pro. Have not picked up a bow in years now.

I've been playing golf for years. Never had any lessons cause I couldn't afford it.
My handicap is that I think I can play golf. I usually shoot just over 100. Best ever was
a 91. As I get older it gets harder to break 100.
I wish I could figure out a good way to carry my clubs on the Nomad but it seems impossible.

About 15 years ago, I played golf religiously. Played consistently in the low 80's. A bunch of us from work would take off every Thursday afternoon and play as well as play all weekend. Putting was my strong suit. We even held our own tournaments.

But, as time went by, I changed places of employment and the focus went to other things. Now, I just get frustrated when I try to play, which is not very often. I hope to pick it back up when I retire. Golf is a game that one can play and enjoy if one can put the time into it.

Yea I play, last time I paid to keep up with handicap I was about a 10 or 12. Play mostly in spring and fall can't stand the heat of summer. I work swing shift so most of my off days are during the middle of the week. Really like it then no big crowds. Love to play 4 man team scrambles tourneys. Nothing better playin golf drinking beer a good gar and friends you know you can beat. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

I used to play all the time, I was the girls golf coach...shot in the low 80's consistently. Now, I play 6 or 7 times a year. Still have fun, but I don't expect to shot or play great, just have a good time.

Yeah basco, I hear ya, I got a little bit tied up in archery equipment myself http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
I got a Bowtech Pro 40 3-D bow and a Bowtech Pro 40 hunting bow. A recurve and a longbow. A single cam Champion that just hangs on the wall. All the equipment for tuning and repairing bows also.
I have my own 3-D course in the woods side of my place. 25 shots from 20 yards out to 55 yards. I shot it 5 times last year. My buddies who are still into archery shot it much more than I did.
And then I bought the Nomad!

When I was on the Martin Archery field staff I had a beautiful recurve styled compound black metal flake bow with mother of pearl inlay, Firecat was the model. That is the one that I won $ in Vegas with. Also had a shorter bow with 105 lb draw weight and an overdraw shelf for outdoor shoots. That bow was a blast to shoot. Never worried about the wind. My hunting bow is an old Cougar Mag that is 85 lb pull. That is the one that got me on Martins staff. I shot a perfect score indoors with that bow a couple of times and they made the offer.

Never took up golf or archery much. Very little hand-eye coordination I guess. Maybe I shouldn't be riding motorcycles.

In my 20's and early 30's I played at least once a week. Then gave it up. Decided I could spend the money elsewhere and be a lot less frustrated http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Golf is the devil's sport ;)

I used to play 4-5 times a week until I became a msf instructor AND re-enlisted in the Army.
I'll take it back up ina couple of years when I can dump my regular 9-5 gig.
I used to have a 8 HC.

Heck yeah they had it back then. Why even Moses was a golfer. He spent those 40 yrs in the wilderness lookin for lost balls. And the Red Sea parting? BIG divot!!

I used to golf a lot several years ago. I haven't golfed as much since I moved to the Phoenix area (yes, I know it's a golfer's paradise. Go figure). My handicap? Well, my eyes aren't quite what they used to be... I'm kidding. I never bothered to figure it out.

I did buy some new clubs a couple years ago after my son wrecked his car with my clubs in his trunk. Bent a couple of the shafts.

Golf, that's the game I play with the little white ball and the bag of sticks. I think it's great. I love nature and during my golf days I spend most of the time in the woods looking for the little white ball. As far as a handicap, I can't count that high.

Does mini-golf count though? That's as close as I get. Now, if they would tune those little carts up to run about 40 and have free beer stands at every tee and green, I could see myself playing golf.
