View Full Version : Christmas Present to myself
Paid OFF the Nomad yesterday. Baby's all mine now. :-* Bank can kiss my derriere ;)
Feels so good to be free. Only debt I had left. Just utilities, food, gas and medications for us now. At least until I get a sidecar for the Nomad. Speaking of which, I'd appreciate any sidecar infor from any of you if you want to share.

I paid mine off in 2 months. I don't like paying interest at all. Thank God I was fortunate enough to swing it. Congrats Dano.

Damn rich people!!!!!!!!
I'll be paying on mine for 4 more years. But I don't mind, I will be riding it at least that long and the credit union makes it possible. If I had to pay for it up front i wouldn't have it.
Sold my Ultra Classic, was able to buy out right the Nomad and had money to landscape the yard. Mamma's happy, Daddy's happy!!!!

Yep, bank owns mine too. I just keep it for 'em and I'm trying real hard to wear it out.
Congrats to those of you who own the titles. Way to go.

I have my title but still paying on my bike. Now you try and figure that one out.
Congrats Dano on having it free and clear.

Home equity loan
Hey Beezer. Paid cash for the 04 1600 Classic but had to borrow on the Nomad. Sold a couple guns I'd inherited a few years ago that I really didn't care for to another relative that did. Dug into the savings account; put the two together and came up with enough to pay off what I owed on the Nomad. Just a matter of money management rather than being rich T.C. :-) Wife and I both are civil servants. Rich is a 4 letter word to us LOL

I sold my Seadoo, 4 wheeler, and my snowmobile, and traded a bike in so I only needed about $8000 for the payoff so since I had it I figured it's better to pay the piper less than more. The rest is making me interest.

No beezer, it was the Kawasaki loan did a big jump in interest so I went to the 0 interest credit cards. I could pay it off any time but why, I am not paying any interest.
Wish I had an Ultra Classic to sell. I'd have enough money to buy the sidecar for sure then. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Have enougl left over for a KLR650 to boot.
Ride safe Flash,
Dano
Thanks Naugaman. Feels good to have it free and clear and no monthly payment. I was paying 2 payments from the start. Paid off the wifes car while back and just added her payment to the Nomad's double. Didn't have to dig to deep into the savings to give myself the Christmas present that will keep on giving for years to come. It's on warranty to 2012. If I can't find a sidecar close, I may trike it with an MTC Voyager kit and get myself a trailer to haul the groceries in.

The good old credit union is holding the title for a while in exchange for friendly mothly payments. :)
Can't knock the credit unions though. Sure beat the heck out of the rates the bank gave. Mine was 4.25%; Bank wanted 8.5%.

Hey Dano, I guess I can say the same for The Lady in Red, she is all mind as of last month. All I have is a mortgage, life is good. And by the way I had a KLR600 a few years back when I live on Vancouver Island.

naugaman.. I was going to guess you were like me.... Mine was a present from the wifey...so that's one of those things where even though I have the title, I'll never be done paying it off!!!!! LOL!
We did the Kawasaki 12mo/0% interest thing. Paid it off in 7months cause I didn't want to chance it!! Lots of overtime helped, but it sure feels nice knowing that my baby is ALLL mine...
Good ol' Bank of Mom. Financed with her for 2 years. Will be paid off in May. She gains interest on her money and I gained a bike. :)
Hey Cookie, lend my your comb. You old enough to remember Route 66? <BG> Feels good don't it. I paid my house and land off about 7 years ago. Got a small house way back in the woods with 28 acres of land. Little 2.5 acre pond on it with some catfish and brim; large mouth bass or two. The rest of it is woods and I love it. Knowing it's all paid for except for taxes as someone mentioned, sure feels good. Barring any unforseen illness or disasters, I should be debt free for then next 8 years and I'll be retired then. May have to go into debt a few months for a hack or trike kit but maybe not either if I can save enough between now and my next bonus time. Hopefully I'll be able to pay cash for it.
Like you said, "life is good."
Ride safe,
Dano
BTW: Love what you've done to your Nad. Really sharp!

Way to go Dano, you da man. I started a bike fund when I first read they were in the process of building the 1600 classic. I keep telling myself to be cool and wait, betting that they, would put that motor on a nomad. and they did. Found the cheapest price on the net. Took it to the dealer and haggled for a week. Payed cash for it and it was well worth the wait. Got me another bike fund sarted just in case. The wifes not working now, so it harder to embezzler money from her. May take a while longer for the next one . Glad your in the clear.
