View Full Version : Dirtbag update

It has been a while since I updated you all on the status of the dirtbag who scammed my youngest daughter. He had an active felony warrant out of Power County to the west of here and we were looking for him when we found out that he had checked himself into rehab two counties north of here. He was in rehab when the pre-trial for the offenses against my daughter was scheduled so that was postponed. When he got out of rehab he went with his attorney to Power County and quashed the warrant by turning himself in and requesting a date for a prelim hearing. So, now he is out running around free. He got another date for a prelim scheduled here in Bannock County for the offense against my daughter. End of January. His prelim in Power County was this Tuesday and his attorney walked into the courthouse and waived that hearing so they set a date for a trial in District Court. The next day, Wednesday, he walked into Home Depot here in Bannock County with a fraudulent credit card that he obtained with someone else SS# and bought $18,000 worth of gift cards. HD figured out the scam soon after he left but the gift cards are not traceable. Our prosecutor is Pee-ohed and wants this guy in jail. As long as he is out he is stealing money from someone. My daughter continued to get so many debt collection calls from the credit card company that she finally had to change her cell phone number. Meantime, dirtbag is still free, still gleefully enjoying the holidays and making a mess of someones finances. The wheels of justice.............
That has to be incredibly frustrating Idaho..... let the process take it's course... enjoy the Holidays....... Rest assured..... his day will come.

It is frustrating Nico. We now hope that he spends Christmas in jail with Bubba.
He's waiting.....

It sounds as if this guy could use some batting lessons from a designated hitter
Thats really frustrating. You would think if he knows he's about to face jail time he would clean up his act. Maybe the latest home depot stunt is his avenue to pay for attorney fees. The sick thing is that right now on ebay there are 115 listings for home depot gift cards ALL of which are selling for less than face value. Makes you wonder.
Some peoples brains are really sick. I couldn't even think of scamming someone like that!

He has been getting away with this for so long that he honestly thinks he is immune. We are thinking that the HD thing may the straw that breaks the camels back. The HD manager is rabid about thiefs. They have this guy on video tape and everything. Cops are tired of the workload that he is making. One man crime spree. Prosecutors want him. And he is making tons of enemies in every town around here. Yep, his days of freedom are numbered.

I find it interesting that this guy is loose on the streets of Idaho. I'd think if someone was facing the charges he is he would be a flight risk and should be locked up until trial, especially after his latest shopping spree. Hopefully this scumbag will get his due and learn a new trade like license plate manufacturing in the state pen.

Don't you just love the judicial system? My daughter's ex was in and out of jail. Never had a job to pay for anything so he took. One day someone gave him money for a bus ticket and he walked away from work release. It took the county detention center about 24 hours to figure out he never returned. He is now in Florida and is in and out of jail there. If he returned to Idaho, he would not see the light of day for a very long time. Since his crimes were never more then a misdemeanor, the state will not bring him back. In my daughter's ex situation, he got to the point that jail was the only place he had a bed and a warm meal.

It means He should sleep with the fish, do you agree Nico? More or less... In other words, wasting time through legal channels is well, a waste of time. Sometimes the old ways are better. Better to say nothing and exact comeuppance.

Hey Ponch, well I was close with the translation, but that does not really count. If I was not an ISP Chaplain I could agree with that openly. Secretly the USMC DI in me is wanting to take this guy for a boat ride. Does that mean I'm "conflicted"?

You are human... and you shoot a bit higher than I do being a chaplain. At this point it is being handled, and you have more patience and peace than I would.

Ponch, I gotta tell ya, sometimes it is only the expectations from guys like you that keep me on the straight and narrow. I'm too human sometimes.
LW, you are right what goes around eventually comes around. I just need to be patient.
Nico, looks like we have a flag down on the field. What penalty do you think is appropriate?

BD, looked to me like Nico threw the flag on your move.
Another update, My neighbor is a PPD detective and he told me that as of today there is an active felony warrant out for Mr. Dirtbag with a $100,000 bond. The warrant that he was arrested for in my daughters case had a $50,000 bond but he was able to come up with the money (probably stolen) because the judge at his detention hearing lowered the bond to $25.000. Hopefuly that won't happen again.

2 canolis, a calzone, and a slice of peperoni. Throw in a bottle of montepulciano or sangiovese, and we'll say that's about right.

Sounds good Ponch, although I have no idea what you said should be in the bottles. But, if Nico approves we can send BD the list so that he can do penance to Nico for picking on him. LOL
