I heard there is a Kawasaki meeting in Fredericksburg, TX in April. I couldnt find any information about it. Has any of you ever been there? Is anybody from AZ (or going East through AZ) going there?

I'm sure Trip or one of the others from Tejas could confirm, but I do believe that's the Texas VROC Hill Country Ride. It's usually around that time of year.

Did you find out about it on the VROC forum?

Here is the website for the 2009 ride. I was thinking about it but probably won't since Later in May I will be at my folks for their 50th.

Cougar, you will enjoy The Hill country area of Texas. It is a great area to ride around. It is a little bit away from Tucson though about 830 miles from there. Have made the trip before from Tucson to Dallas then south from Dallas to Austin and then on to Fredericksburg and then back to Tucson. Unfortunatly no longer assigned to Tucson, because it sounds like fun. Have a safe ride if you do go out there. DJ

Ahhhh, the Texas Hill country :).....any excuse to get out there is a good excuse. We're going out there the first weekend in March and spend 4-5 days, during spring break. I might just have to do it again in April. If you are there, Fredricksburg is a good starting point, but that is just the beginning. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif

Sorry to get in this conversation late, but what CJ and Waterman tell you is correct. Every year, the Dallas/Ft. Worth VROC club holds a Texas Hill Country rally based in Fredericksburg. I've attended several.

Of course, anytime anyone takes a ride to the Texas Hill Country, fun is had by all. I take a trip to Leakey, Texas every year and ride the 3's. Clears the mind and rejuvenates the soul. I've even thought about planning a future KawaNOW National Rally in the THC.

Every state (with maybe the exception of Florida...LOL) has its' primo riding region. The Texas Hill Country is unique in that it has just about every type of road to ride on....mountains, desert, hilly, switchback, s-curves, straight and flat, you name it. I would strongly suggest a ride to the Texas Hill Country for anyone in the US. I've heard of guys flying in from as far away as California, renting bikes and riding the region.

In case you're interested, here are some links to trip reports of trips I've made to the THC.

Now you're talking my language, Trip. A Rally in THC. I love the way you think. Last summer, we took almost the same trip you did in #1. My first time on the 3's, going to do it again this march.
AWESOME RIDE. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
