I will be in Las Vegas for a conference in early May and after the conference plan to rent a bike and ride east through Sedona, up to Grand Canyon. From there the plan is to continue along the eastern edge of the canyon, travel north of the canyon through Zion National Park and back to Vegas. I have about 4 days and was wondering if this a good route or would you suggest another route. Any suggestions on roads to travel, places to stay or sights to see would be appreciated. Also what would the tempature be especially north of the Grand Canyon during early May.
Thanks everyone

That is a very good ride and an ideal time to do it. It won't be blistering hot yet, although it may seem warm to you coming from up North.

With the exception of the Las Vegas/St. George UT areas, you will mostly be at higher altitudes (4000' and above) and will experience cool temps at night and early morning and nice riding throughout the day. If you can, try to see Monument Valley along the Utah/Arizona border.
