NOT:)

Went for a ride today with 4 other fellas...we came togeher at Hooters for a day of riding the Florida & Alabama highways...

We started off on the flats of Florida...country riding...broken up barns, cows, horses, hay bails, and general varying versions of road-kill. Making honorable mention was after swaying around a racoon (?) piece of kill, it was noted by this group of riders that there were COCONUTS in the riding path too!! Don't let anyone tell you these were ghourds(?) or anything of the like....this is Florida and those were coconuts!!

Moved into Alabama and caught a twisty or two...crossed several bridges with varying amounts of water rolling underneath...roads were well kept (NOT, but made riding thru the national forrest nice .....wha??? Are we back i Florida already??

Went to B-Dubbs in Milton and had lunch...nice place...Stacy took good care of us...we got to share some tales of riding - adding new coconut story to our story-book, had some good grub, got to know each other better, got some good grub (was the food nautically challanged? Shipwrecker, meatbal SUB, etc??)

We were able to analyze and talk about each others bikes and what we all want to do to them...so many things in common Slide show below.....aloha!

Looks like you all had a good time. I just got back from running a couple of errands on the bike. I'm on call for work this weekend, so I can't get too far from home. What a shame, too...it's 75 degrees right now.

Ya'll cross state lines like we cross county lines.LOL.
Glad you got out.
Couldn't enjoy the weather today but tomorrow is a new day. I think I'll cross a line. You've inspired me.

We missed ya in Waco Skeeter. Maybe next time.
Left the house at 8a with the themometer reading 36F Rode an hour to meet Bluetongue and Miss Marla and then another 2+ hours of riding to Hog Creek Icehouse in China Springs. Great turnout for the SCRC "Groundhog Day" event. (Happy birthday Steve). Solid represntation of TXVROCers as well. Good grubb and good company. Made it home around 830p having added 445 miles to Lucille's odometer. Sweeeeeet!

Saturdays Suck in Florida...NOT:)

Wednesdays are pretty rough, too.

I did a 230 mile round trip to Naples on Wednesday.

My nose got sunburned.

Hey Dandolfn,

I noticed you have a Garmin nuvi gps? which model is that? What are you using to mount it?

thanks

It's a Nuvi 260W with a RAM mount specifically designed for that GPS.

I used it to find my friend's office in Naples and it worked perfectly.

In town, I could even hear it OK. At speed, I couldn't hear it too well, but I could see the arrows coming up for the turns.

I already had the GPS for my car when I bought the bike.

DaBull...you are just plain MEAN!

Cold, windy and I think the temperature dropped 5 degrees since I started typing. A new Nomad sitting 80 miles away still too cold to go pick it up.

Retirement soon... might join you http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif I am envious!

Let's pile on a little.

I bought my Nomad on January 10th. Have 1800 miles on it now.

LOL! The town IS pretty beat. Even on the main drag, such as it is, there are buildings that are falling down.

We rode in county on Sunday...saw some alpacas, a camel and the more normal stuff for country riding. Need to take pictures next time. Also saw a partial dinosaur, lol.

OK, I'll bite. How do you see a partial dinosaur?

coacha
02-24-2009, 10:19 AM
It is a concrete replica of a dinosaur, minus it's head on Lake Lindsey road, east of US 41 just a little north of Brooksville. Kinda cool cause it is just out along the road. Probably part of a old roadside stand or something.

They used to do a lot of that road side art stuff, but they don't seem to do it so much any more...
