West Virginia, of course! At least 7 to 8 days. The Finger Lakes,Adorondeks, and maybe the Berkshires. And all the Pa Dutch Country eating I can handle, unless I get a chance at some Texas Bar B-Q.

As I said earlier, I'm going down to the eastern rally, but I'm making a point this summer to just ride ride ride. I have a semi retirement job two days a week so i'll end up with 5 days of 100% freedom. I have the last week of July and the first wek of August book for Kenora Ont the CAV rally and then we are heading over into SD for stugis.

OH by the way I see I'm a full member now, what no cake,no music nothing....hmmmm I'm waiting...... ::)

Definitely Americade , have rooms booked , would like to make eastern rally but don't think Cindy can get time off that close to the Americade run.
Other than that a lot of day trips and a few overnighters to the surrounding states of NY

Ole Dawg, come to TEXAS and get some good barbecue. There are plenty of us here to show you around. (And when I get to PA I will expect some reciprocity)

I am new to touring. Been to Deals Gap and a run to Houston for the Cycle World International Show. What is the "Americade." Maybe this thread can be to exchange info about good places to go on the wonderful Nomads we all have.

I'm in the very early stages of planning a road trip to Big Bend National Park. Probably sometime between the months of May and June. I should have a buddy or two to tag along, otherwise solo...........may even do a bit of camping on this one.

Make it out of the State of Florida...no kidding...
Living in Naples I'm about 7 hours to the Florida - Georgia border. Hopefully this spring a trip to Georgia or the Carolinas...Joe

I have several planned for the year. There is Arizona Bike Week in April. Then the River Run the end of April. If I can get out of bed early enough I will take the ride with the western rally in June. May even try to run up to the Elko Rally. Several trips to Idaho to see family. August is the big one. Taking off for West Yellowstone, up over Beartooth Pass into Redlodge, Mt. Take my time getting over to Gillette, Wy. Spend a day or two at Sturgis and then find my way back to Vegas.

Leaving from Kennewick, WA, I'm going to Spokane, WA, Bonners Ferry, ID, Cranbrook BC, Lake Louise, Alberta, Revelstoke BC, Omak, WA, and home. Probably 3 nights out. I'll have others go too, with my wife riding sweep. She likes her Mustang convertible. Going in late April, will probably be cold in the Canadian Rockies but I'll dress for it.

Hey Privateer, Thanks for the welcome. Only been to Texas once, 1957 Dallas. Cold and windy day, but I still remember the Bar B-Q Mmm Mmm Good.If ya ever get up this way, give me a shout, it'd be a pleasure ta show ya around, and put on a pound. Man I do like good cookin, and that Texas Bar B-Q is definately TOP SHELF, but not to sure this ole cuss could make it that far. But its a durn good Idea.

A few months ago I rode up your way because I had read about HWY 20 and how scenic it is. We rode from Monroe to Omak through Sedro Woolley on Hwy 20. It rained on us all day long and never let up once! It was still a good ride. I remember hwy 155 that comes out of Omak and goes through the Colville Indian Reservation was quite the road. Very Scenic and nice curves! One of the most memorable of the whole 2000+ mile trip.

Thanks for the post V, I didn't know about that Vulcan Rally in Carlisle. I'll definately make that, only about 100mi. from home. You sure have a Haul from Texas, not sure where Jonestown is, but I'm bettin you've got a good saddle and a Large Pack. I must admit to being a bit envyious, that's got to be one beautiful Journey. You'll be goin through some of the most beautiful,& scenic country I've been through. Them Mountains from Maine to Georgia have always captured my Heart 'n Soul. They really make ya gratefull to be alive just riding through them. Maybe I'll see ya in Carlisle, and you can share some tales of yer Journey. Think Spring!

I will try to get down to Alabama this season. They have the Barber Vintage museum there in Birmingham, as well as 29Dreams bike resort and some great roads.

Nothing right now. Married with 5 kids tends to keep my riding relatively local.

Definitely Americade

off thread - Went Americade last year - 1st time to go....very disappointed that I got a refund check instead of a video. Was pretty nice - they do a good job on traffic control for that many bikes(40,000+) - folks seemed well behaved.

back on thread - Honda Hoot-Knoxville, Kawa Eastern Rally-West Virginia (depending if can get time off venture down the road a ways toward other kawa rally with Kawgirl and Todd and whoever else wants to join in), Motormaid Convention-Ohio. Day trips, overnighters....definately several trips to Georgia ......ride the bike and go see the grandbaby what could be better.

Hope to ride to Badlands next June or July, but right now I'd be happy just to be able to get down my driveway and go around the block!
