I thought it would be interesting to find out why everyone picked the nickname they did.

I go by Trip because it is short for triple. I'm the third Robert Hilliard in my family.

Wolfman was a nickname a guy gave me at work because I'm never clean shaven + I thought that Wolfman Jack on American Graffiti was a cool kinda mysterious guy.

Hey Trip - Everytime I go for a ride now on my '06 and see "trip" on my odometer I think of you. Man, it must be great to have your name in lights!

When I go out and ride it releives so much stress, you know the old saying 'never see a bike parked in front of a psychiatrist office. I wanted Unwind first time I ever got on a forum but it was taken so.....Unwind 2.

I'm a house supervisor at a hospital and the Chief Financial Officer's nickname is 'Trip' so it always reminds me of him and how he is always worried about man hours. LOL

Look - I'm getting better. I took this picture today! :)

When I was signing up to be a part of this fine fellowship, I just used the cleanest name they call me at work, (First & Middle initials). I had seen the Deals Gap site prior to that and felt that Dragon Tamer (fire service related) might be misunderstood as claiming credentials I have not yet earned. Key word "yet".

Ok so now we're divulging occupations: I'm a licensed settlement specialist that works in the WCAB Workers' Compensation Appeals board and I settle lawsuits filed for Workers' Comp. No I'm not ESQ but I do legal arguments in the courts and I give out the money.

DC caused their own problem. I did undercover work and went to a few seminars where the speaker was explaining how to overbill the worker's comp system. Unfortunately a usefull profession was tainted by some unscrupulous few.

08-01-2007, 11:29 PM
I agree whole heartedly..... I'd love to work for the other rside and uncover insuarance fraud......... that's why I run a cash practice...... that's probably also why I'm broke. lol ... wait... that's not funny.... :(

I came back from Nam in 69 and couldn't buy a job. I tried. Washington DC was recruiting cops. I applied and went to work. It was that or back to Nam. I'd have been safer in Nam ::)In time, I became a Motor Officer. Greatest Department in the country. Hawaii 5-O was big then and my name went from Daniel to Dano and it's been Dano ever since. Been in Law Enforcement in one form or another ever since too. Last 20 years as a Parole Officer.
Ride safe,

Night Flight was a radio show I used to listen to late at night in Michigan. Seems any problem I ever had would disappear when I got on the bike and rode at night..... the problems just seemed to dissolve in the wind. Greatest stress reliever I have ever found. I loved night riding then as well as now, even if I don't have any problems. Life is great since my retirement. LOL

I have used Night Flight for boat names, CB handles, etc. since back in the 80's.

first time i rode with my club, the Road Captain made bad error coming up on a fork and confused the rest of the group. since we were riding in close staggered formation everyone in front of me started going in all kinds of directions so i dipped so low to the ground (countersteered) to get heck out of everyone's path front and back - you would have thought i was on a sport bike. When we finally stopped to re-group Prez looked at me and said damn that was a helluva dip - hence the name. in reality i was just scared and just trying to get away.

Well, it goes back to around 1990, its basically my home, or really the original name for my "Mantown". i ve pretty much lived, well still live it, the bachelor life, never married, no kids, drink bourbon, smoke weed, bang hot chicks, have the mantown, poker table, pool table, bar, etc, and it got called The Toxic Tavrn long ago partying with da boys and its been for the most part an identity i use, mostly online or like i said on my license plates, so thats about it!

Sorry I am late for this one......

Sitting at the dinner table one night, my oldest daughter looks at me and says ever so smartly "You know dad, with your round fat face and spiked hair, you look a lot like a Spork from Taco Bell!"

Yep. the original multi-tasker nickname stuck!

There several derivations:
Sporky
Spork in the road (from my last accident)
Sporkster

You get the picture.

Many years ago after a break-up I moved in with a roommate who was an acquaintance. She also happened to be a psychic/medium. The most bizarre Sh*t happened in that house. I am pretty open minded or at least get to the to each his own stage. But with lights going off and on, on their own weird noises and all the other stuff, I got spooked and moved out. She and her medium friends called me spooky.

Blowndodge "Nico's Master".

I bought Nico at an auction and he now washes my laundry. Bought him a neck chain too!

Wouldn't you get something with studs on it?

Back in the late 60's /early 70's where I grew up in a small biker town were the feared bikers at the time was 101 knights and satans angels. 750 hondas and 750/900 kaws arrived on the scene, these were our rides. There was a group of us and everyone called us bikers and seemed to fear us also, we were a pack of 12. Hence we became the "dog brothers". My last name is Blackwell..so I became "Blackiedog". Most of the original 12 are still alive and active with bikes. Every year for the past 35yrs some of us get together for a week or two of riding.

cheeseyrider
02-11-2008, 11:13 PM
My last name is Kraft - My friends used to call me "big cheese". One day I rode my first scoot over to my best friend's house to show it off. His mom said I was gonna kill myself and my buddy made some smart@ss comment about me just trying to be like Fonda in "Easy Rider", his old man snorted and said "more like CheeseyRider".

When I joined a couple online forums, it seemed as good a fit as any other nickname I could make up...

Ok, about two years ago I had some civillians ask me about an mva they were involved in. Our motor units don't handle mva's, so I advised them to exchange info, if they wanted. Later, they met another motor officer and told him they had spoken with the short mexican motorcycle cop.
I'm not actually mexican, but have been thought to have hispanic heritage (actually 50% italian).

mobboss
02-12-2008, 07:38 PM
I was a Detective for the Baltimore City Homicide Unit for 12 years and prior to that I worked on the Organized Crime Task Force. I picked up my nickname during the drug years when I was working undercover, because everyone told me I looked like a mob-boss when I was dressed for the part. That carried through to homicide when I would be the one to act as a hit-man when someone wanted to hire someone to whack their loved one. Since I retired 6 years ago, my wife and everyone else still tells me that.

02-12-2008, 07:52 PM
Last Name is Beasley so it has created quite a few nick names over the years:
Beeswax, Bosly (charlies Angels deal), The boz (before Bozworth) Beez, Beezer, Beasy Money, Killa Beaz, Beasy...

Now days I use the last two (Killa Beaz & BZ) The one I use on things like this is supposed to be pronounced "two be easy"

And of course I did not want to piss off the KawaNOW original "BEEZER" ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Whaz up BEEZ ?

bassaddict
02-12-2008, 08:44 PM
I love to fish and occasionally drag my wife along. I probably did that one too many times, in less than ideal conditions, and spent hours working the pads for bass. She accused me of being addicted to bass fishing - thus BassAddict.

racinchef
02-13-2008, 05:22 PM
There are two ways to earn the title "chef". The first is to work in the food service industry many years and satisfy all the criteria required by the certifying body. The second is to open your own restaurant and call yourself "chef". I chose the latter. I am also a big stock car racing fan at the local short tracks and once saw an enduro driver with "Racin' Chef" on the side of his car, so I adopted it as my own. Sorry Cookie, but Chef sounds so much better. (I also cooked in the military)
