You don't get winter in Austin. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif Ride your bike up here next week and then tell us what you think of winter, and we aren't really into it yet.

Hey Doc, I would rather kill the bugs with my winshield. At least that way I am riding the Nomad instead of making payment while it sits in the shed.

Winter in NW Georgia means I can keep the beer cold on the back porch.
I love the ice covered lakes for ice fishing. I plan to go ice fishing with the bike at least once. even if its only with the 800 until next month when I buy the 08 blue and silver nomad. Just to say I did it.

I hate winter. Yesterday all the surrounding schools were closed because of an ice storm but my sons remained open. I called him out anyway but that is wrong to be the only school open when everyone within a 40 mile radius is closed. Can't wait until it is warm again.

Don't you wish the finance company would reduce the payment because you can't ride or something nice like that?

There should be a rule......something like...Winter will only be 6 -7weeks per year from the third week in Dec till last of January....or something like that. ???

Not really....
Guess it depends on where you are. Here in South Florida we LOVE winter. Cooler temps (70's during the day 50's at night), no rain, great riding weather. For us, summer sucks with the heat, rain, bugs etc. Spent the first 25 years of my life in the northeast winters and couldn't see myself going back. I need sunshine!

Yea winter in the North ain't good, BUT 90's 10 mo. a year...........nah I'll take the 4 seasons.
I've got a cupla Mo. to rest up, look forward to Spring, the flowers blooming, birds chirping.trees budding. Summer, with Crystl clear Lakes, Streams full from spring runoff . Then Fall with the beautiful follage crisp Autum air. Whats to look forward to in Fla.? More bugs, more sweltering sun, Congested flat roads. You gotta be kiddin! Change is the Spice of Life. It is getting cold in Vegas. Has been in the low 40s this week. Makes for a brisk ride. With no snow or ice on the road, I can still ride. I do hate the 115 degree summers but one takes what one can get.
Great, just upgraded to 6-10 inches. Calling for an inch an hour starting at 1pm.

I like the change of season of course here in southeast tenn its mild we can pretty much ride year round just have to bundle up. I lived in fl and you can have it to flat and to hot. live in oregon loved it but did have to put up the bike for 1-2 months and rained far to much, like the snow and we get some here it last no more then 3 days tops. hate winter no just part of life. ride safe.
Well the 3-6 ended up being 13. If it says 50% chance of snow, and it actually snows, doesn't that make it 100%?
Naw I think its great time ..........to buy all those extra's for the Lady. I still have a large order coming to me from crusier customizing, Chrome rad cover,Nomad Emblem, Lay down plate, helment lock, highway pegs. Winter is to take care of her, summer is to ride her...

IT'S SNOWING HERE AGAIN LIKE WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH ON THE GROUND HERE IN BELOIT, WISCONSIN. I GIVE UP I'M STAYING IN THE HOUSE UNTIL IT IS ALL GONE AND THE HEAT COMES BACK.
They are called for a winter storm here in Kingston tonight that is coming up from Texas, but the skies are still clear.

my oil burner is thirstier than my bike this time of year
I have 12 cords of wood to burn this year. But I'm changing the fireplace to a pellet stove insert for next year. I'm tired of choppiing and splitting.

I just came in from blowing out the driveway, about 10" so far in 4 hours and still coming down like crazy. Weve had it pretty good the last couple of winters but are certainly making up for it this season.

The temp right now is about 17degrees the sun is out shining which means when the sun goes away all that snow that was melting is going to turn into ice. Yeah!!!!!!! I wish i was out there with you guys where it is warm.

Can't snivel about winter. No sense in it. I love the three seasons that I can ride in. Idaho is very arid so we don't get to use our rain gear very often when we do ride. Winter is for fly fishing and tying flies in front of the pellet stove under a bright light. IF we get a warm day I might consider changing out my clutch washers. In the meantime I'm fishin. Life is too short to complain.

Catch and release or eat? I don't like to fish but I sure love the taste of trout.

Hey TC, mostly catch and release. Kept one 22 inch rainbow in November, my first one in two years and it was really good eating. Must have been the clear cold water. I went two weeks ago, temp was between 27 and 32 degrees, and had a blast. Caught lots of fish. Going again this weekend but will probably wait 'till Sunday. Believe it or not, the lake is crowded with kickboats and float tubes at this time of year. (it is the only piece of flatwater that is not frozen solid and the rivers have too much ice floating in them) Hey, a man has to do something in the winter, can't ride the Nomad.
