I can guess at what some of you do or do not do for a living but was wondering what a typical Nomad rider does for an occupation.

To start this out, I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. Also have a Journeyman plumbing license and a Journeyman and Contractor HVAC license in the State of Idaho. The latter may sound a bit odd since I live in Vegas. Plumbing and Heating was the family business and I learned the trade.

My friend who owns a Nomad in SLC is a field engineer for a software company.

I have a degree in accounting, but have never worked 1 day as an accountant. I have spent the past 16 years working in IT, most of that as a Unix Systems Administrator, but changed positions within the company earlier this year and now I support e-commerce applications. Prior to IT, I worked in technical fields: auto mechanic, repaired jet fighters for the Marines, security systems installer, and technical field service for a large office equipment company.

I am a counselor/therapist/psychotherapist with a private practice in Denver

http://www.abetterlifecounselingllc.com/

I don't know computers at all, and tried to figure out how to build the website myself in between clients. Need to get somebody like trip to build a real one.

I have a Bachelors degree in Behavioural Science/Psychology, and a Masters in Social Work.
I have done counseling in residential treatment centers for teens, in halfway houses with sex offenders, forensics counseling in community mental health, and just recently my private practice.

Prior to going back to school, I was a carpenter. I broke my back in a motorcycle wreck and had to go to school and get a non physical job. It worked out better than I anticipated.

Dan and SWB boy if you could help my sister!!!!!!
She is 58 yrs old, never been married. BS in Education but never got her teaching cert. Master's in prison ministry (while she was a nun for 20 years) but never used it. Left the convent after 20 years when she realized she did not agree with all the teachings of the Catholic church. Worked as a massage therapist at an exclusive country club....made pretty good bucks doing that but got mad one day and quite. Cleaned houses for a while at $9-11 bucks an hour. Now sits with the sick....just finished a 9 month certified nurses aid course and just started a 9 month pharmacy tech course. Her long term goal......hospice nurse or nurse practitioner.

In the mean time I send her money at least every other month and sometimes pay her rent. Our parents deceased... there are 3 of us (my brother who is a minister never sends her any money). So my Hubie and I are already thinking ahead when she gets to where she cannot work anymore that we'll have to take her in (don't think she has much paid into SSA). Help!......

You're right Todd.....a very good movie. Val did an excellent job. I did some research into the whole Wyatt Earp/Doc Holliday thing several years ago. I really wanted to know if Doc actually said those things......couldn't ever find any proof other than he was quoted with the Daisy saying. Could be just Hollywood hype.

At the end of my study and research, I came away with a elevated respect for Wyatt Earp. He is two notches away from being my hero. You gotta respect a man for spending several years going after the ones that killed his brother. Family to the end.

Worked law enforcement for a short time and then went into organ donation as an Organ Recovery Coordinator. Did that for 12 years and then jumped over to the transplant side. Now work as an Outreach Coordinator for one of the local transplant centers.

Oh, and "any other delegated duties."

With the women that fool can get? Even his castoffs are hot! As for Todd, he's hoping to co-star in Brokeback Mountain 2 - Riding Bareback.[/quote:udvja1me]

Was there a "1"...I've never heard of the movie????

One of your favorites SWB???...what's it about????

Today at 9:00am, spork wrote:Started out as an EMT then went through to Paramedic. Ran the streets for about 8 years and then became a police officer.

Worked law enforcement for a short time and then went into organ donation as an Organ Recovery Coordinator. Did that for 12 years and then jumped over to the transplant side. Now work as an Outreach Coordinator for one of the local transplant centers.

Oh, and "any other delegated duties."

Educational activities have been technically driven. More certifications than degrees. Currently hold certification as a Procurement Transplant Coordinator.

Most Juveline Criminals arent Civil, it's what gets them to the courthouse in the first place, right?

Four years in the Air Force as an aircraft electrical systems tech. 1966-1970.
Student at Georgia Tech 1970-1973, majoring in Electrical Engineering. No degree, quit to get a job when second child appeared from somewhere!
1973-1996 IBM Customer Engineer with the Field Engineering Division. (we fixed the computers for the customers when they broke them.) Had the wonderful choice in 1996 of taking early retirement or getting laid off. The joys of a company "downsizing" and then seeing them hire somebody right out of school to take your job!
Travel Agent from 1996 to 2000. As far from working on computers as I could get! This was a really fun job. . .unfortunately this is when the airlines decided it would be a good idea to do away with commissions to travel agents. The pay really stunk, but it was fun.
2000 to present, (since the travel agent gig didn't pay off) took a job with an Information Storage company - one of IBM's competitors - as a Customer Engineer. Yup, working on computer stuff again, mainly large disk storage arrays.

Golly Castus Jack, I think you misread my post. You see, you have mistaken the word "perfusionist" for "percussionist". My guess is that if you ever needed open heart surgery a percussionist wouldn't be able to keep you alive.
