I took the plunge today and collected all the parts necessary for the CaddmannQ dual air intake mod. I considered all options, but I really DO like the symmetry of the Nomad with both sides matching and I also like the amount of air that his mod will force into the motor.

Caddmann also provided me with a link to a thread on another forum wherein a member (Constrictor) did the mod and provided step-by-step instructions AND pictures. It's even more thorough than Gadget's believe it or not! It's just what I need: "Air intakes for Dummies".

Even though the price of the 9" x 2" air filter units was $30 each instead of $20 each, the entire modification, with a set of extra air filter elements and all necessary hardware (including aluminum sheeting for the "coasters") came to ~ $90. Much less expensive than a Thunder kit.

I'll have to wait until after Xmas to come up with the money for the custom map and dyno run, but in case anyone else is interested, here's the link that convinced me I could do this mod:

http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/....k-warni ng.html (http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/projects-how-write-ups/14510-constrictors-caddman-air-mod-tutorial-56k-warning.html)

I'll definitely chime back in while this mod is in process and after the dyno run session. Until then.... "Thanks, Caddmann"....

Hmmm, well I don't know why it won't let me paste the entire link...but if you go to www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum (http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum) then do a search on: constrictors-caddman-air-mod-tutorial you should be able to get the info. It's worth the effort...

there's a space between the "n" and the "g" in the word "warning"...

Thanks for the heads-up. I tried to correct it, but it again wouldn't cooperate. Oh well...
