Our Long Riders group road down to the Alpine Steak House in Sarasota for lunch today. We took a somewhat round about way to get there, through Tampa to visit the BMW dealership (one of the guys needed a part for his heated gear), then over the Sunshine Skyway Bridge to Sarasota. On the way back we took a ride to St. Armands Key, up Longboat Key to Bradenton Beach. The bulk of the group went over to Plant City for Bike Night. We decided to head home with a buddy and his wife, again over the Skyway then up through Pinellas County and Hernando County to home.

All told, we did about 300 miles on the day. I will post a couple pictures of the ride tomorrow. Good day.

Sounds like a great ride. I had no idea one might need heated gear in Florida. http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif
The next sound you hear will be the "it's always warm and sunny in Florida" stereotype imploding. . . >BOOM!< http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Big Jim rides a lot of miles and all over the place. Believe me, we do some rides when it starts in the 30's and doesn't get above 45, so heat is good. Not as necessary as up north but still good to have.
