Yeah I know, use the search thing. Well I tried. It didn't give me one hit. No matches found.
I tried BD's garage, it said page can't be found.
Soooooooo, I am trying it here.
Will a tachometer that lists fitment for Vulcan 700, 800, 900, and 1500 fit a 1600 2007 Nomad?
I am assuming it will but you know what they say about aassuming ::)
When I searched I had a bunch of posts come up and several threads as well. here's one: http://kawanow.proboards77.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1189525437&page=1
I don't know if you overlooked the deafault 7 days maximum maybe trying typing something like last 100 days at the bottom of the search

Ok , thanks wolfy , putting 100 days in the search gave me a few more. I'll wade through them to see if I can find my answer.
Blowndodge, I don't know what your problem is with me but if thats the way it is then thats the way it is. You were on this thread to answer Wolf you could have just took two minuets and answered my question.
There is also a question in your garage, now that I can get there, from nsmorgan. It is titled tachometer instalation. It was posted nov. 25. you have given no response. Maybe you sent him a private message I don't know. If so I thought your garage was so everyone could read the info.
Trip, I'm not being negative , just wondered what the problem was.

I just transfered my Baron's tach from my Yamaha 650 onto my newly acquired Nomad. They both had one inch handlebars and that was the only consideration in making the transfer. I expect that would be the same for all the bikes you listed. The bracket for the tach also gave me a convenient place to mount my LED voltmeter.

You ask a legitimate question topcat:
I never knew you and I were cross. I've received a few responses like this and it does disappoint me because we've only met you through the internet and you feel you know me personally and sadly judging my opinion of you. I'm sorry this is so.
I can to this board just like the rest of you did. I own a Nomad, period.
I became CME because Trip asked and I accepted. It pays absolutely nothing and you are required to pay absolutely nothing in return. Your are getting free advice no?
I posted the rules and regulations on Blowndodge's Garage about what we talk about.
I don't answers questions that I don't know what the answer is. I've not put a tach on my bike so I can't deceiper someones tachometer installations instructions. Who could?
I don't monitor the forums all day and night. Sometimes I'm on for an hour and sometimes not at all on any day.
There are some on here that are upset that I'm the CME. I kinda had a thought on who they might be and figured on them coming at me with every possible conceivable question just to "test me" then come back with the "you don't know crap" kind of response. Thankfully it's not many but I'm aware of others.
Please don't pre judge me as I would probably be one of the few that if I saw you pulled over the side of the rode, stop, have the tools to help and would help you get back on the road.

The tach I put on my bike was one I got off ebay for 2 cylinder motorcycles. Did not say what cc or anything. It works great for me. I also connected the green wire to the coil on the left side as the negative wire (black with red stripe) was on the outside. Easy to get at. I pulled the spade off, pushed back the rubber boot, slipped the green wire through the boot and soldered it on the spade, slipped the boot back on and then pushed it back on the coil. Not too tough. Then the other wires you can pick up the power and such from under the chrome cover for the key switch. Since I had installed a batwing faring, I had all of my power there that came from a different fuse and a 12V relay.
Hope this helps some TC.

BD, I apologize. I was out of line. I'm sorry.
I know the CME job pays nothing. It's hard to believe anyone would get upset because you got the job over them.
You are right I did feel that I knew you and others on this forum personally. I guess it is because everyone on here has a common interest. Love of the Nomad and motorcycling.
Actually I did prejudge you and it is a positive opinion. You seem to be a very intelligent , knowledgeable and personable guy. It just irked me that I thought you answered some people and totally ignored others. Speaking of which, if there is a question asked in BD's garage that you don't know the answer to you could just say you weren't sure and ask others to chime in. This way the person asking the question wouldn't think you were ignoring them.
Again, I'm sorry , lets put this behind us and if we ever meet in person I,ll buy you a cold one.

All is good topcat. I know you didn't intend for the words to sound or come out that way.
I like when others chime in the Garage becaue they may have installed the exact tach or light or whatever before I give my guess as to what or why. GH answered a question that I researched and the manual's I read said early Nomad's can't run a newer oil filter and he interrupted and said it's done all the time. Well I have a newer Nomad so I didn't know some had found out that older ones could. I appreciate that knowledge and pass in down.
Topcat you one of the charactures I enjoy on the board. Our stomachs could be brothers?!!
First beers on you then I got next round, then Nico, Wolf, Trip, Doc, SWB, Idaho, the beez scoot, todd and on....are we going to be trashed!!
