Well I survived! As some of you know and some don't I went under the knife yesterday to have a high hernia repaired. We discovered the hernia during a yearly medical check up. I thought it was just a torn muscle from my motorcycle wreck several years ago while in Yellowstone Park eluding a Buffalo. And now LIz has another thing to twist the knife in me as she had been trying to get me to see a doctor about this since the trip.
As far as the surgery everything almost went as planned. I did not have to have the mesh implanted just a stitch up job. So it is just a few week of recovery and then step 2 of my self improvement plan to start loosing the extra weight I have gain since I retired.
The one thing that occurred while in the recovery room the nurse could not get me to stay awake and I had a very low oxygen content in my blood leading them to believe that I have sleep apnea. So I will be going the 11th of this month to be tested for that.
This could explain part of my day time naps and low energy, thus the weight gain etc.
A viscous circle!
Everyone else here seams healthy, some sniffles etc. but it is that time of year with Missouri's changeable weather.
I hope this note finds you and yours in the best of health and as always I wish you the best life has to give. Thanks to everyone for being there, the prayers and kind thoughts.
