My wife and I just finished up mounting the bag rails. The bottom rails were a snap but the top ones were a bit of a chore. I used the masking tape and traced around the posts with a pencil after the rails were centered up. I then centered the washer in the circle and traced the hole in the washer. Drilled all 6 right on target. The only problem was starting a couple of the bolts. The little posts on the bottom of the rails are cocked a little too much for the curvature of the bags. I wallowed the rear 2 holes just a little and they started. I was thinking about putting fender washers inside the bags for a little more backing. I got everything on ebay for $310. Nice product for the money. Fire and Steel are a little too steep for my budget.

They do add style, don't they. The top protection is a must, but I don't really know if the bottoms do much other than looks. Nice job.

Excellent.... ;). Wow...not only does it look good...its WAY too clean... http://s2.images.proboards.com/shocked.gif!! ;) ;)
One point....the washers (especially oversized ones) need to be in place under the rails BEFORE marking your circles. If not, you will end up wallowing out your holes as the angle will change and you might be sorry... :-[.

Sweet! I really want the bottom rails on mine. Now if only I can come up with a way to convince my wife that they are necessary to the performance of the bike.

Thanks guys. I don't like the rubber washers either. I'll eventually have to replace them with something a little thicker. Will most likely have to do a little reaming to make them fit with the thicker washers. Got the trunk back on and ready to ride up the Natchez Trace next week if the weather permits. I really like that trailer that Joe picked up. I bet my wife could manage to fill it up for a 3 - 4 day trip. I could get all I need in one of the saddlebags. Roll em up tight and stuff em and away I go....

Looks real Nice http://emoticons4u.com/fingers/fing11.gif
I'd like to get the top rails at least, but that will have to wait until I take care of some other priorities.
Such as, engine guard chaps, throttle lock, Drivers back rest, light bar, luggage rack, exhaust, BAK, etc. etc. etc.
I'm gonna have to get the <s>ol'</s> pretty lady back out in the workforce. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
