This is what my bike looked like today when I stopped in to see it.

The dealer has had it for a month now. It needed a new hydraulic lifter. I'm glad I have warranty, looks like a big job.

Man, that's just WRONG!!!

That they have had it a month.....it didn't take that long to manufacture it in the first place.

I still think Kawi's idea to make the right frame tube removable is ingenious.

Shoot Dan, just have em put your frame tube back on and mount your floorboards and rear brake pedal and you'll be ready for initiation into this <s>biker gang</s>. . .errr riding club http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif:

When these guys scrape floor "boards" they get splinters,
and you NEVER hear them complainin' about the stock seats being uncomfortable!!

It's only a Flesh Wound! It'll heal up real quick after it's back together! A month does seem long? Mind you when I took mine in for Warratny work they goofed around in my opinion "way way way" too long! In the Shop I manage we pride ourselves in " get it in a nd get it out!" If it's Warranty either Factory of our fault we even try harder to get it done!!! That's the only way you can build up a good rep! Too bad many of the Motorcycel Dealers don't understand that practice!

I hate it when shops don't give you the straight answer.

After two weeks I called to pick it up and they said that they were waiting on the part. I asked how long it takes, and they said sometimes up to 10 days.

I said that if they hadn't started on it yet, I'd come and get it, then bring it back when the part gets in. They said they had already started on it.

Since then, every time I call they say maybe in a few days. Last I heard it was going to be done right after thanksgiving. When I stopped by yesterday I was prepared for it to be sitting there not touched. I was at least glad that it was apart. They said in a couple of days it "might" be done.

I'm sure that I don't fully understand what it takes to run a multi-brand shop. But I wish they would schedule me in when they can actually do the work. Lexus does it for my car. You bring it in, in the morning, and it's done in the evening. If not, they send you home in a loaner car. I wish a lexus dealer would get tired of cars and open a kawi dealership :)

The worst part is....November has had a lot of days in the 70's, and 60's. It has been peppered with snow days and cold, but there has been a lot of warm days. Yesterday was 66, today will be 33.

By the time I get the bike back, I will have totally missed the last warm days of riding http://s2.images.proboards.com/angry.gif:(" title=">:(" border="0"/>

Look at it this way Dan, you can make up for this time off when you head to Custer. Lots of things to jump off of there. Hey, maybe we can ride to the top of Mt. Rushmore and park on the edge. Now that would be fun! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Thank you for asking Dan! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

My 900 has been making a rubbing noise since last year. I had the brakes checked because it almost sounded like they were stuck, a dealership went into the top of the motor to check (had to replace cam and things around there and break bike again like it was new) and nothing. Our recent long bike trip to West Virginia made the noise much louder! It was rubbing enough to produce a loud squeal.

Took it back to dealership and mechanic spent 30 minutes on the phone with a Kawi tech. Kawasaki has FINALLY admitted there are problems with some of the earlier model 900's in the stator. It rubs!!! So, they replaced the stator, newly designed rotor and gasket. The rotor was the part holding them up for several weeks, like with your bike :'(

Just got it back last weekend and the noise is FINALLY gone!!!!

That sucks...but I am in the same shape as you. I haven't called yet and they have had mine for a week for the POG replacement. My wife keeps telling me it will be done by the weekend but I'm thinking right before Christmas. I just want my wheels back.

Doc, it was a lot ticking.....like a 1500 with 60,000 miles that needs extenders, only worse.

The ticking would increase with rmps, so if you pulled in the clutch and reved it a bit, the ticking picked up to match the rpms. It just started all of a sudden one day. The dealer said it was a hydraulic lifter that had "bled down" and needed replaced.

Believe it or not, I got a call today saying that my bike is ready to pick up.

It's hard to believe for me. If they gave me a year to get it all back together, I might not make it.
