I took this Friday off (10/31) originally to attend the International Motorcycle Show in Glendale AZ. I didn't know at the time that the show didn't open until 4:00PM that day, so I decided to attend on Saturday instead so I can get in some demo rides.

I have also heard there will be a 1700 Voyager at the show, though it won't be available for demo. :(

So, I have a day off this Friday and I plan to go for a ride. 200-300 miles, no particular destination in mind. I'll probably just pick a direction and start riding.

I'll have my camera and take some photos to share with you.

It was 74 degrees here today (warmer than it was), and I didn't have any clients today. I rode for about five hours. Loved it.

Have a good time on your day off. Ride safe.

Have fun CJ. A four letter word (work) keeps interferring with fun.

Hey CJ! How far is it to Benson, Az. from your place? I'll be staying in a cabin at the KOA in Benson on Sunday night. Should get to Benson around 3 or 4 in the afternoon. I will be on my way to California to ride the coast road from LA to Monterey.

Only about 140 miles via the Interstate, around 150 via Florence. Last time I was in the Tucson area there was a lot of construction.

I've never been to Benson, I had to look it up on Mapquest. Oddly enough, I was thinking of riding to Safford on Friday, coming in from Globe to the north. I was going to go home through Tucson, which would take me through Benson. I've never been in that area of the state.

CJ, it may be a challenge just getting to the MC show. The wife saw one of the highway signs that said northbound 101 will be closed for the weekend, I think starting in Chandler. On the way back from Phoenix today, I saw a sign that said southbound I17 will be closed for the weekend. The adot site is worthless to get any information.

I'll go out Riggs Rd to I-10, then take I-10 all the way through Phoenix and exit on the 101 on the West side. There's dozens of ways to get there from Chandler. It's about a 50-mile ride each way.

Well, my full day ride will now probably just be a half day. I have a bunch of errands to run in the afternoon. I'll probably just ride up someplace and have a late breakfast then go back home. I'll be at the motorcycle show for most of the day on Sat, and on Sunday we get the Broncos game, so I'll be in front of the TV.

Well, I left home just before 07:00 this morning and headed E out US 60 to Globe. I stopped for breakfast at a place called "Judy's Cook House" and ate scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and wheat toast. I chased it down with a large glass of OJ. Then I continued E and US 60 turns toward Show Low and I kept going on AZ70 about another 25 miles into the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Then I turned around and headed back and I was home by 1:00PM. There was a fire burning around San Carlos so I didn't take any pictures because it was too hazy. Round trip total of around 280 miles. A half day spent riding is better than 30 minutes spent at work.
