Does anyone make a cruise control kit for the nomad

Electronic cruise control became available on the 2009 models. For previous models we'll have to settle for throttle locks.

There was a previous thread for this subject. There is an electronic on made for the Nomad.
Cost is about $800.00. There are only three dealers in the US one is in Florida.

You can try this, but I hear that the price is pretty steep.
There is a member here that has it, but I can't remember who it was.

I believe unwind2 had one installed on her bike.
Just send her a PM and ask her about it or go here. This is the thread about it.

Its not an electronic cruise, but I have a Vista and it works pretty well. I have used it a number of times on freeway trips. Granted on hills I might have to adjust it a bit, but can't beat the value.

Audiovox makes a "universal" cruise control 2501076 (http://www.fixthisride.com/showproductdetail.jsp?prod_id=37530) that others have adapted and installed on the Nomad. I believe Gadget discusses this on his fixit page.

A true cruise control is one thing I would love to have, have been thinking seriously about that Audiovox one.

These Audivox cruise controls are only $100ish. I've seen them on ebay for $60. I think you would need to be pretty comfortable working on your bike to install one though.

Here ya go: Audiovox (http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/GenProductListCmd?type=nprev&catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&categoryId=1649&langId=-1&page=&urlString=&productId) Google is your friend.

I think the CCS100 is what I've read people have installed on their Nomads.

I installed the Audiovox CCS-100 following Gadget's instructions. It works great. Compare delivered prices on ebay and Amazon. When I bought mine it was cheapest on Amazon because of free delivery, but it may be different now. The ebay guys wanted $20+ for delivery charges, back then.

Make sure you understand Gadget's instructions and are willing & able do the install. You will need to pull the gas tank and modify the locking compartment under the driver's seat on the left side. It's not a simple bolt in, half hour job.

First few times that the throttle twists itself under your hand is a little creepy... :-) Sure is nice, though.

I have used the Audiovox on my street rods for years have one on my 65 Olds now they cost just a little over $100.00 and are easy to install on a car but the bike is something else. I may try it this winter it would sure be nice to have on the way to Custer.

Kragen Auto Parts (partsamerica.com) has the CCS100 cruise control on closeout for $27.51

I'm gonna get one now for future installation. I buy all my automotive parts thru them and then pick it up locally. Always saves me some money.

Same here, $104.99 I think that is a car control not for bikes. Am I missing something ???

It's a universal cruise control system. It's designed for a car, but works on a motorcycle as well.
