All right all of you big talkers and observers, all you bad asses and candy asses, I need your help. Actually my wife needs your help. She is writing a research paper about non-verbal communication and has decided to show the difference between the way bikers are perceived and who they really are. So here is what she wants:
She wants pictures of you in your baddest biker gear or your toughest biker pose. It doesn't matter if you are with friends or by yourself. It's preferable to have your bike in the picture so no one thinks you are just auditioning for the new Village People that BD is starting. http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
Here's the other part, with your photo, include what you do or did for a living.
The theory is that bikers are seen as only having certain careers, but we all know that doesn't hold true. She wants to present in a positive light, that bikers have real jobs and should not be judged simply by their appearance.
Thank you in advance for your help.

It has to be winter before I'm all leather clad, and even then it looses some of the look with a full face helmet and I don't have any pictures.
I don't have many pictures of me, just lots of my bike, but here are some to choose from.
My wife would make a better example, she works in Tax Audit for a
very large multi national company. She has a Law Degree, and an MBA.
I am a Marriage and Family Counselor with an MSW. So as far as your wife trying to shatter stereotypes, between us both we have 5 degrees.

I will have to have someone take a "badass biker" photo of me to send to SWB. You could just take Trip's first picture and dye his goatee red and that would be me. I have the same jacket and everything. Almost the same job description as well. AS & BS from Colorado Technical University, Software Engineer/Virtual Systems Administrator.
Found a couple - take your pick. By day, I'm a computer geek (Network Infrastructure Manager) otherwise I'm a Martial Arts Instructor (in Korean Karate) & National Director in a US Korean martial arts organization. I have 2 kids who are juniors in college with a 4.0 GPA (I was even the president of a national honor fraternity when I was in college).

Sounds like we have more computer geeks than stereotypical bikers.
It's funny you mention that OP......I've been hanging around motorcycle forums for over 10 years now. It never fails that the bulk of the members work in IT some way, form or fashion.
SWB and I talked about this, this morning. Must be the easy access to computers and the thrill of getting out of the stale office that attracts IT people to motorcycles and forums.

Hey Bosko,
Is your plant a Refrigerated Lean Oil Absorption or Cryogenic?
The Plant I worked for just prior to this one (same company) used lean oil. The plant I work at now is smaller and the gas is pretty dry. Propane refrigeration and glycol dehydration is essentially the hydrocarbon recovery unit. Because the gas is sour in this area they use Amine to strip the H2S and Sulfur is extracted using a modified Claus process.

Every time I have tried to get a picture, my camera batteries had gone dead (I ordered some new ones online, but don't have them yet). So, no pictures :-/
But, I am a pastor of a small church by day . . . and night . . . and also when I am riding http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif http://s2.images.proboards.com/cool.gif
I bet I don't look like it when I am in my gear, though!

Doug,
Are you with an independant church, or one sponsored by a denomination. The reason I ask is that I am accepting a position with an organization called Village Missions (www.village-missions.org) that places leadership in rural churches across America and Canada. I have been fortunate to be the youth pastor at the second largest VM church for the past 7 years, but since I'm turning 40, I figure that it's time I grow up (darn) and my family and I are looking forward to the challeges and rewards of leading our own small church.

Yes. That is exactly the church that I'm at. I have loved it and enjoyed the 7 years I've had here at the church, but even though I am going to miss the friends we have made here, we are looking forward to the new challenges that we will face in the next few months.

Well...I posted my pictures on here a few days ago. When there were no replies from the author of this thread, I was afraid that maybe I went over the line a bit. So imagine my thrill to find out that my pictures can actually be used!!! http://s2.images.proboards.com/grin.gif

Okay, so to recap again, I work for Congress on Capitol Hill during the day...a business woman! I don't have a picture handy, but I dress "professional". In fact, I have so many co-workers that don't believe I ride my own bike!
After work and on weekends though, I let my hair down and put on my leather and LOVE being a Biker Babe!!!

I nominate CherriAnn for the biggest extreme award. Working at the Capitol for Congress, to looking like a true biker chick. That is a pretty extreme incongruence for anyone who isn't part of our crowd.
So CheriAnn, I'll bet you have stories to tell about what goes on in that building, I hope you are going to the Black Hills rally. :)

Thank you, but DC just isn't the same anymore :'(
After the 9-11 attacks, security clamped down so tight that I can't even walk the steps of the Capitol anymore for exercise ::)
We have gas masks and emergency survival kits kept under our desks, all windows changed out so they won't shatter, Capitol Hill police on every corner....so sad...
