Just wanted to thank everyone for all the great resource and introduce myself.

I just turned 49 Saturday and decided to make a change so I traded my 2001 Suzuki Bandit S that I'd worked over a bit for my new baby. Picked up "Elvira" on my birthday and had a grand time learning all about the difference between a UJM and a Cruiser. The weekend was great weatherwise, so I put two hundred miles on in a day and a half.

I'm already ordering tons of accessories and hooking up for rides. My wife loves the comfort and I'm adjusting to a whole new approach to motorcycling. I'm really liking this bike. Guess I'll have to start cleaning my bike occasionally, something I didn't have a habit of doing in the past...

I live West of Houston in Katy, have a wonderful wife, a 15 year old Daughter and 12 year old stepson. - Oh, and a ferret and a Chihuahua

I work for the Toyota Distributor for Texas, Ark, OK, MS and LA in IT -No, I don't sell cars, but I have contacts and usually know whats in the pipeline

Well, that's me. I occasionally head up to Alaska for drop hunts but other than that, I limit my hobies to bikes and family.

Hope to hang my hat here for a bit and learn more about this new machine. Thanks again, Mike

Thanks to everyone for the kind words! I rode in to work again today and am REALLY enjoying this. Got the suspension much closer to where it should be for someone of my ....ahem..."presence"

A drop hunt is one where you get dropped off from a floatplane or tundra tired plane in the wilderness - usually only two hunters, and we hunt for two weeks. Only contact with civilization is flyovers. It's a tent, freeze-dried food, backpacking meat kinda thing. Good news is there is no cell phone coverage :)

Welcome from Arkansas Mike. I'm originally from Houston and have family in Katy. Enjoy the bike and ride safe. I should be coming down there to see my dad sometime soon. If you can, ride up here and join us for the Rally in the Ozarks.

If this thread is from 7 years ago...would that bring us to conclude that our fellow biker from west of Houston...May have met one of those 1500 lb Alaska Brown Bear's ?

Hey MIKE...... drop a line and let us know how its going.
