Well it's finally done, it's 8:00 am here in KY, the temp is 46, and I'm hot and ready to go for a ride. After almost 7 weeks the old green Nad has been fixed with new oil gear, new set of rings, and a rebuilt set of heads. The shop will be open at 9:30, and I plan on being there at 9:25. It's been way to long without a ride but it's finally over.
Thank to everyone for your good wishes, and support, I'll give you all a update on how she does in a couple of days.

It should be a nice ride home in the cooler weather, the bikes always seem to run better in the cool mornings. Ride safe.

Unless you stick your head up your a** like I did last Saturday and put low octane 87 gas in the Nad at a Casey's. Bike has run like poop ever since. I need to get some high octane and probably some seafoam. I figure it shouldn't have been that sensitive in the cold weather.

How many miles did you have on the bike before it was necessary to have this work done?

Smokey, Mine had 23K on it an hopefully I'll get "Scarlet" back on Monday...I've got the POG sitting on my desk here at the office, and I too can't wait to ride!!! Congrats Hoss, I hope that you have a good ride...Ride out to Lexington, then down to Bowling Green and home...that should be a good way to get back into the saddle!

Thanks everybody, Smokey I had 26,000 on her when she took a dump, but today I put 105 easy miles on her, and I was back in heaven. Tomorrow is another day, sunny and 78 for the high.

Did I miss something? Hoosme + Rksaw,

Did you have other issues other than that nasty POG ? I assume that both of your are 1999 model year?

Welcome back to the road man!
Best looking color for a Nomad too! IMHO anyway. ;)

It was for sure at least the second best color in 1999 http://s2.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif

I only had a POG problem, but to solve it, they have to pull the engine (did you know that the lower frame rail on the right side comes completely off!!!) and split the crankcase.
