I'm looking to get the MUTAZU Trunk Box but not willing to let go of the passenger grab rails ..... anyone with an idea of a strong rack to hold it. THANKS

Check with with KingWOMPAS on the North Georgia VROC site. He makes a pretty strong luggage rack which bolts right on without messing with the grab rails.

He told me that the wompus rack won't fit on the Nomad without removing the grab rails.

I went with the Cobra Rack. My trunk hasn't arrived yet, so I don't know how well it will work yet, but once I get it mounted I'll post pics and let ya know.

If you find something, be sure to post it. I really like the look of ths grab rails and my wife likes them being there...

If you click on "members" on the top menu bar, you can send him a PM and ask him. His name is dano. It doesn't look like a cobra to me. I have a cobra on mine and it sits lower. It also doesn't look like kawasaki rack as the kawasaki one sits higher. I would think lower is better so it won't interfere with the passenger backrest.

The cobra I got looks a little different than the pic. The cobra pic shows the bracket as one solid piece but my bracket has the triangular open cut outs similar to the Kawasaki pic. The actual rack and where it sits is the same though. I mounted some red and chrome reflectors to the side of the bracket that I had from my shadow. It looks like this: http://nomad.eurekaboy.com/luggagerack.htm

So Wolfman it is a nice rack ..... do you think it'll hold a trunk full of stuff plus my wife back pushing on the trunk?

10 lbs is the biggest "safety factor" I have ever heard! I would sit on it myself. There are 4 HUGE bolts holding it on. The hitch on my car has 4 similar sized bolts. LOAD IT UP!!!!

Just read the thread. (wish we had some form of notification) It's the F&S Rack and a cheap truck I got from JC Whitney just to try a trunk out to see if I wanted one. It'll hold a full face helmet but not much else with it. Carries my lunch, CD's, GPS, and a few other essentials and locks so as long as you don't park it in a dark alley, they should stay safe. Been looking at a Large Leathelyke Trunk.
You can see how it's attached in this photo. Has it's own base plate and lets you remove it and carry it like a suitcase if you want.
Ride safe,
Dano

I put a 40lb pack on my Cobra rack.. Good thing I peeled off that weight limiting label.
