Here's an informational article about the new 1700 lineup.

Sounds like they were listening to many of the comments here. Can't wait to see one. I'll give them a year to work the bugs out, take a look at the price and tank capacity, then who knows....
Glad to see them keeping the line updated. Sure hope it has hydraulic valves.

That's what I'm thinking - just a guess, though.

If it is in the price range of the HD ultra it will be closer to $20,000.00 or more and that is one reason I don't own a Harley

When I sat on my '08 Nomad at the dealers this past July, one of the first things I said to the salesman was "I can't believe this thing doesn't have cruise control".
Hindsight is 20-20 and I LUV my '08 (3k already), but had I known about all the upgrades for '09......hhhhmmmmm...I might have put a few more miles on my Vulcan 800 Classic... http://s2.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif!

Some rather interesting wording in the last paragraph:
Along with the new Vulcan 1700s, Kawi’s 2009 line will also include the popular Vulcan 900 LT, Classic and Customs. For 2009 you’ll also find the Eliminator 125, the last year for the Vulcan 500 LTD and the Vulcan 2000 in base, Classic and Classic LT trims.
Sounds like the last year for the 500 LTD and maybe the V2K.
